Before agents can participate in the economy, someone has to answer the trust question: who authorized this agent, and within what limits?
On Monday evening in Seoul, that question filled a room. Thank you to everyone who joined Proof of AI: Korea Special Edition, and to our partners @soohoio, @avax, @hashed_official, @FabricFND, and @tiger_research_ for building the evening with us.
Our Cindy Shi opened with a keynote on Kite Passport and the state of agentic payments: where Kite Passport sits in the stack, why identity, permission, and trust come before scale, and live demos of what agents can already do today.
Then the panel dug into the agent economy in Korea, moderated by @yumi_mika_ (SOOHO IO), with @eugene_avax (Avalanche Team1), @junkim (Hashed), @degenapeo (Fabric Foundation), and @ekko_924 (Tiger Research):
▷ What infrastructure agents need as they evolve from tools into economic actors
▷ How authorization should be designed: budget limits, permission controls, and security verification
▷ Which agent use cases will land first in the Korean market
Seoul is taking the agent economy seriously. Thank you, and see you at the next one. 🪁
Purpose-bound money isn't a whitepaper idea for us — we built it into Korea's CBDC pilot, and real-world payments are where we're taking it next, on @AvaCloud.
The design: vouchers that can't be resold, settlement enforced by the contract rather than an operator's promise, and purpose, region, and time all recorded onchain.
A glimpse of what programmable settlement could look like.
Korea's 33T KRW voucher market runs on bearer certificates, infrastructure that hasn't changed since gift certificates were physical.
Merchants completing sales and waiting weeks to get paid isn't a bug. It's how the system was designed.
SOOHO.IO rebuilt the settlement layer on AvaCloud ⤵️
Smart contracts enforce purpose restrictions, vouchers can't be resold
Merchant settlement triggers automatically at redemption
Every transaction recorded onchain, not by operator promise
40,000+ transactions. 30-50% lower settlement costs.
💳 PAYMENTS — Stablecoin checkout, live
E-commerce firm Popop completed a stablecoin payment PoC with Vitoz. Validators included Hana Financial TI, Lignex, and Modetour.

4/ 🎮 Game industry tunes in
Law firm Hwawoo hosts a Virtual Asset Framework Act forum for game companies on Jun 22 — expect debate on tokenizing in-game items and applying stablecoin payments.

3/ 🧪 REGULATORY SANDBOX is open
Korea's FSC is taking Q2 Innovative Financial Services (regulatory sandbox) applications, Jun 15–30. Review takes up to 120 days.
It's becoming the main supervised on-ramp for stablecoin & security-token pilots.

🏛️ REGULATION — Card issuers are next
The new chair of Korea's Credit Finance Association, Lee Dong-chul, named stablecoin adoption by card companies a key priority in his inaugural address.
Card networks already own the payment rails — pairing them with stablecoin settlement is the signal to watch.

Honored to have hosted the "Stablecoins in the AI Agent Era" panel at the 2nd Seoul Economic Daily Stablecoin Forum, part of #BitcoinSeoul 2026 — moderated by our CEO Jisu Park @jisu_soohoio .A real privilege to share the stage with such brilliant minds:
🔹 Niki Ariyasinghe — VP, APAC & Middle East, @chainlink
🔹 Minkang Huh — KB Financial Group
🔹 Byungha Kang — Meritz Securities
🔹 Minseop Yun — Bithumb
Together they explored whether AI agents paying and settling on their own — machine-to-machine (M2M) payments — is reality or future.
The takeaway: the tech is here, the biggest hurdles are regulatory, and Korea is better positioned than most think.
Grateful for a sharp, candid conversation. Thank you to everyone who joined.

We'll develop a blockchain-based platform that connects and distributes freight data scattered across land and ports. Powered by a high-performance oracle and DID-based identity verification, it securely shares weight data generated in different environments and ensures the reliability of every record.
The project will be carried out in stages with partners including Korea Expressway Corporation, marking SOOHO.IO's expansion into public-sector data infrastructure.
