Helen, Helen, Helen Let me explain this to you in plain and exceedingly simple English. Disabled kids are most likely to have been born with their disabilities or conditions (as I was). I know this might be shocking to you Helen, but we don't just stop being disabled at 18. Being born with a disability is usually a lifetime deal. I tell you what, care to swap? You can have my cerebral palsy (and the benefits that you say come with it) and I'll take your fully functioning extremities and become an MP. Not a Tory one though, because I'm not a horrible bastard. By the way, if you accept my offer, good luck trying to wipe your backside, put your own clothes on, wash any part of your body or doing any sort of cookery (since you won't be able to hold a knife properly) are, and one more thing, forget about rolling yourself over in bed at night, you'll have to get somebody to help you with that as well. But yeah, apart from that, a lifetime on benefits is really fucking easy isn't it?
Look at this chart ๐Ÿ‘‡ Many if not most of the children on DLA will go onto PIP. Around half of children who get DLA become NEETs. Thereโ€™s a clear path from child DLA to PIP to a lifetime on benefits. We must change this.

If you are able to help and support me in achieving my dream and continuing my studies, please do not hesitate to extend a helping hand to me. I would be truly grateful for any contribution that helps me cover my tuition fees and continue this journey toward a better future. No matter how small the donation may be, it means so much to me and brings me one step closer to my dream. After three years of war and genocide, during which I lost almost everythingโ€ฆ my home, my job, my stability, and everything I had built through years of hard work. But they could not take my dream away from me. I am a civil engineer from Gaza. My workplace was destroyed, my life changed completely, and I found myself facing a reality I never chose. But I refuse to let the war be the end, and I refuse to spend the rest of my life held captive by what it destroyed. Today, I am starting over, not because the road has become easier, but because giving up is not an option. This semester, I began studying for a masterโ€™s degree in Geomatics Engineering, taking my first steps toward reclaiming my future and fulfilling my dream of becoming a successful engineer who contributes his knowledge and experience to rebuilding my homeland and reconstructing what the war has destroyed. I may have lost years of my life, countless opportunities, and the security I had every right to enjoy, but I still have the determination to start from scratch, even if I have to carve my way through the rubble. We, the people of Gaza, may have our homes destroyed, our jobs taken away, and our dreams scattered by war, but it will never decide on our behalf how our story ends. This is not merely the beginning of my masterโ€™s studies; it is the beginning of a new battle, a battle of knowledge, determination, and rebuilding the future. I will keep moving forward, for myself, for my children, and for a homeland that deserves to rise again. ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ธโค๏ธ A photo from my bachelorโ€™s degree graduation celebrations in Civil Engineering.โค๏ธ

You cannot defeat your oppressors by dancing, or by singing, or by being nonviolent. Settler colonialism fell because Africans took up arms. The colonizers will never give you power, you must take it.

Five series of Clarkson's Farm, and the same thing happened every year without anyone pointing it out. The wheat drowned in the wettest autumn on record. The sheep stood in the rain and lambed. The oilseed rape was eaten by flea beetle before it came up. The cows ate the grass that grew where the rape had failed. The potatoes rotted in a shed he could not sell them from. The pigs ate the potatoes. The wasabi, the chillies, the mushrooms in the bunker and the nettle soup made a few hundred pounds between them. The venison off the wood paid for the stalker and then some. The barley came in late, light and under the price it cost to grow, and the brewery took it at a discount. The beef off the same acres went out of the farm shop at a price people queued down the lane for. The arable half needed a two hundred thousand pound tractor, a man to drive it, a contractor to combine it, diesel, sprays, seed and a prayer to the sky. The grass half needed a fence and an animal. The one thing on that farm that failed every single year was the part a government leaflet tells you Britain should be growing more of. The one thing that never once failed was the part you are told the planet cannot afford. Five years of evidence, a thousand acres, the best advice in the county, and a camera crew to record it. The verdict was the same as every hill farmer's since the Domesday Book. On land like that, the animal is the only thing that works.

People ask me why I'm so obsessed with ruminants. I've given it some thought, and my conclusion is that I'm not obsessed enough. A cow walks onto a wet hillside that grows nothing a human can eat, puts her head down, and comes back with steak, butter, cream and a pair of boots. She does it with a 150 litre fermentation tank she carries inside her, stocked with more bacteria than there have ever been people, which she feeds, waters and keeps at blood heat herself. Grass goes in. The bacteria take apart the one thing no animal can digest, and she lives on what they make. Then she digests the bacteria as well. Nothing is wasted. Even the fat comes out the far side rebuilt into something stable enough to fry in. Fuel: rain and sunlight. Emissions: next year's grass. She repairs herself, builds her own replacement every spring, and improves the ground she is standing on while she works. The finest engineers alive have spent billions trying to copy one chamber of her stomach in a steel shed, and so far they have made a paste. We have leaned on that machine for everything. The word capital comes from cattle, because a herd was the first bank. Domesday Book is written on sheep, and so was every deed in England for 500 years. Ruminants clothed our armies, lit our houses and carried our laws. Civilisation is a thing that happened to people who kept them. And they are such good company about it. A sheep remembers fifty faces for two years, which is forty-six more than I manage. A cow has a best friend, and her heart rate drops when that friend is beside her. A goat that cannot solve a problem will turn and look to you for help, as a dog does, and then ignore your advice. Let a herd out onto spring grass after a winter indoors and half a tonne of animal will skip. They ask for grass, rain, and to be left to get on with it. After ten thousand years of feeding, dressing and housing us, they will still walk over to the gate to see who you are. So no, I will not be calming down.

What? So if you express support for Palestine Action and are the wife of Andy Burnhamโ€™s national security adviser Jonathan Powell, you get a free pass from the police? But if youโ€™re a retired teacher, you get 27 hours in custody and your home turned over by the police?
No further action to be taken against the wife of the Prime Ministerโ€™s national security adviser for support of Palestine Action 3,800+ arrests of people peacefully holding signs, and 36 counter-terror home raids for social media posts have taken place. thenational.scot/news/266465โ€ฆ
