Because the docs are mentioning the following packages -> Git GitLab Runner Dependencies required by the jobs you plan to run that confuses a little bit . My plan would be to use bottlerocket as base image.

💡 TIL: external-secrets.io also allow to sync secrets back to the secret store. Why would you need this ? Example: You want to manage your certificates with cert-manager and sync them back that non k8s apps could use them. buff.ly/3Ihj9tj
