Immediate take aways for me:
- I value model competition even more.
- Get my AI's to safely require less button clicks. The amount of time I spend approving is dumb, and was built for higher error rates.
understanding progress on RSI is one of the most important things we can do to chart the future.
@danrobinson and I made a game and explorer based on economic models of AI research, to make the inputs and constraints that define RSI more intuitive.

Joe Lonsdale: It's perfectly fair to insist the data center owners pay for their own electricity, pay for their own water... But overall, they create jobs, and they're key to this industrial revolution for all of us...
Young people are being taught to hate data centers, just like we were taught so many other things we're supposed to be worried about. And it's fake, and it's B.S., and I'm long America and building the future.
@JTLonsdale @kilmeade
Brian Kilmeade: That leads me to the data center conversation. So we have all these data centers in this country, and suddenly it's a controversial move. 40% of the new construction are being protested now by various cities. The governor of New York says we're putting a moratorium. No data centers. What's the truth? Are they a danger to the environment?
Joe Lonsdale: First of all, they're not a danger to the environment. I do think it's perfectly fair to insist the data center owners pay for their own electricity, pay for their own water, make sure they're lowering the cost of energy... You don't want them raising costs for anyone. But overall, they create jobs, and they're key to this industrial revolution for all of us... It's crazy to stop them.
You know who wants us to stop them? Of course, it's the populist extreme far left. But of course, it's also China. And we are also tracking Chinese money helping NGOs to push this narrative.
Brian: And you also feel like it's popping up on TikTok and other social media devices. So you've got a bunch of 18 to 25 year olds who think this is their next cause.
Joe: You're being taught to hate, just like we were taught so many other things we're supposed to be worried about. And it's fake, and it's B.S., and I'm long America and building the future.

People ask how an AI company uses AI internally.
Our newest tool gets asked >15,000 questions a day.
(By agents and humans)
Engineering at @cerebras spans many disciplines.
Chip design, data center operations, compilers, kernels, cloud infrastructure.
Since the IPO, hiring has only increased.
Every new team member needs to pick up 10 years of context, fast.
That context lives everywhere.
Slack. GitHub. Suggested edits to old documents. Status metadata in Jira.
So @learnwdaniel's team built our own search system in-house.
A simple search pipeline wasn't enough.
They get flooded with noise.
They miss context buried across different systems.
3 interesting things about it:
1. It embeds questions, not raw Slack conversations.
Embedding raw Slack transcripts failed.
"sounds good, thanks" sits close to almost every query in the embedding space.
So an LLM distills each thread into the question someone would search for.
And the resolution.
That is then embedded.
Accuracy jumped significantly.
2. It combines 4 search techniques.
Exact match catches pasted error strings.
Rare-term weighting improves search for obscure terms.
Embeddings catch 2 engineers describing the same bug in different words.
Recency catches that a 6-month-old answer may describe infrastructure that no longer exists.
3. You can ask it who, not just what.
One of the most repeated questions was "who is the expert in Y?"
So the team built who_knows - it finds people with demonstrated expertise on a topic.
3 months after launch, it's one of the most widely adopted tools at Cerebras.

🇺🇸 WARREN: "WE NEED CRYPTO LEGISLATION."
Read that again.
Crypto's biggest opponent in the Senate says the industry needs rules.
Her objection isn't the law.
It's the authorship.
"Written by the crypto industry to protect the crypto industry."
11 months of negotiating. 300+ pages added at Democrat request.
Still not enough.
CLARITY delayed again.
Woke up thinking about @naturalpay Many hours of labour with love to make something so intentional. Amazing to collaborate with the Natural team every step of the way. All the pantone matching, sampling, and materials explore was worth it.

James Baldwin, groundbreaking Harlem-born writer and activist, was born #OTD in 1924.
Baldwin had a personal connection to two New York Public Library locations: the 135th Street branch (today the @SchomburgCenter) and the landmark 42nd Street library. The former helped shape his young intellectual mind—the latter was an important refuge in his teenage years.
In 2024, to celebrate Baldwin’s centennial, the Library mounted corresponding exhibitions in both of these buildings: 'JIMMY! God’s Black Revolutionary Mouth' at the Schomburg Center and 'James Baldwin: Mountain to Fire,' a special display within the Polonsky Exhibition of The New York Public Library’s Treasures at 42nd Street.
