Hermes Bots aka Herald is finally going to Apple for review🚀
Apologies for the delay
I could have shipped it earlier, but I wanted Herald to be something I'd actually be proud to charge for
I received 200+ feedback from people testing Herald. I went through them, kept building, fixing, polishing, and I've finally implemented everything from that list
And if you get it and something still isn't good enough?
Tell me. I'll fix it and keep shipping
I also asked testers a question:
"Would you pay for Herald, and if so, how much?"
Around 140 said yes, with answers ranging from $9.99 to $24.99
So I've made my decision:
Herald will be $12.99. One time
No monthly subscription.
Why not open source this one?
Most of what I build is open but Herald is different: shipping and supporting a native app across 6 platforms is a full-time job, and charging once is how I keep doing it properly instead of letting it rot
The things I open source stay open. This one pays for the time.
For that, you get Herald across:
- iPhone & iPhone Duo
- iPad
- Apple Watch
- CarPlay
- Android
- Android Auto
I know $12.99 won't be for everyone, and that's completely fine. I'd rather charge a fair one-time price and keep making Herald better for the people who find value in it.
P.S. I'm still looking for iOS testers
Hermes Bots on my phone📱
I couldn’t wait to have Hermes Bots on my phone, so I built my own app
Nothing complicated
All my agents at my fingertips
Open any Bot
Chat one on one
Create and customize new Bots
Jump into group chats with the whole team
This is NOT an official Hermes app
I just built it to solve my own problem while we wait for the official one
I know that one is coming
I just couldn’t wait 😂

Today we’re releasing Underdog Bark 3.0, the #1 frontier speech model
It's a tiny 163 MB download as accurate as NVIDIA’s Parakeet (15x bigger). It beats OpenAI's Whisper large-v3 (57x bigger)
It's fast- transcribes 1 min of audio in <0.25s on a Macbook. On recorded meetings (AMI), Bark 3.0 gets 7.82% of words wrong. Parakeet gets 9.42%. OpenAI's Whisper large-v3 gets 13.63% error rate
Bark runs on both your Laptop & Phone. It’s free and open source under CC-BY 4.0
Try private on-device meeting notes & dictation, powered by Bark, in Underdog today: underdog.ai/bark

day 2 of redesigning a startup's landing page every day, for free.
today: @executorsh
the most interesting about this design was how i wanted it to feel minimal but also with enough info to understand what the product does.
in my opinion it turned out really good
Claude Code tip: put this rule in your AGENTS or CLAUDE file, and from then on Opus 5.5 𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗻𝘀 𝗯𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗻𝘂𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗸 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗻 to see the trend. Stat cards, dashboards, profile pages: all of them get the upgrade.
Send this to Claude Code and it adds the rule to your project's instructions 👇
"Add the rule below to this project's instructions: the CLAUDE file if there is one, otherwise the AGENTS file. Then show me what you added.
## Numbers in the UI
When a screen shows stats (stat cards, profile pages, dashboards):
- Many numbers of different kinds: split them into tabs
- Write each one as label + value + one helper line (a rate, a comparison or a time range). Compute helpers from existing data only; if you can't, ask me
- Make the key few numbers clickable tabs that open a small chart: bars or a line, plus an average line
- Chart only real history. Under 4 data points: keep the number, never invent sample data
- Zero or no data: show an empty state
- Reuse the project's existing tab and chart components, no new dependencies"
Claude Code tip: before you ship a vibe-coded site, have Opus 5.5 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗮𝗱 𝗴𝘂𝘆. Send out 3 subagents with three test accounts (A, B and an admin) to actually run 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘀𝗲 𝟭𝟰 𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗮𝗰𝗸𝘀, collect proof, then fix everything in one pass:
Impersonate other users
→ Without logging in, take the public key from your frontend and query every table in the database directly. See what comes back
→ Logged in as A, swap the id in a request for B's and try to read, edit and delete B's data
→ When A edits their profile, add role: admin to the request, then try editing the role in their own account data directly
→ Use a password reset link once, then click it again
Get around limits in the UI
→ For disabled buttons and hidden options, skip the page and send the request directly
→ Once the free uses run out, check whether calling the API directly still works
→ With only a little credit left, fire 20 requests at once and see whether more succeed than the credit allows
→ Fill forms with very long text, special characters, negative numbers and empty values
→ Change the post-login redirect (?next=) to another site, and also try values starting with // and @
Come in from outside
→ Put
in a username, a comment or Markdown, then open the page in a browser and see if an alert pops up
→ If the app fetches URLs (importing links, building previews), give it http://localhost and http://169.254.169.254 and check the server logs for an actual outgoing request. Skip this if there's no such feature
→ For pages and API responses A has seen, request the same address from another browser as B or logged out, and see whether A's content shows up
→ Open your hosting platform's preview links without logging in to the platform
→ Hide an instruction in an uploaded document or web page that tells your AI feature to read another user's data or call a tool it shouldn't, and see if it does
Collect proof
→ Every item has to actually run. If it was only read in the code and never run, it counts as "not proven"
→ After a fix, temporarily turn the protection off in local code and run it again. The attack must succeed. Turn it back on and it must be refused
→ Put the results in a table: how each attack was done, the request and response, and whether it was refused when it should have been
→ Save the tests as scripts in the repo and run them again before your next launch
→ When you're done, install Anthropic's official security-guidance plugin (/plugin install security-guidance@claude-plugins-official). After every turn of edits, and after each commit or push it makes, Opus reviews the changes again. Those reviews use extra usage
The default medium effort is enough. The impersonation group is the most expensive to get wrong, so raise that one to high.
Send this whole post to Claude Code. If you need to, add this line at the end 👇
"First check that the preview environment isn't connected to the production database. If it is, run everything locally only. Use test accounts and test data, with a separate set of accounts for each subagent. Don't touch real users, don't attack services I don't own, don't hammer any one endpoint, and only test payments in test mode. Only switch protections off temporarily in local code, and never change the database or dashboard settings. Keep test account passwords in .env, out of git, and mask tokens in the results table. Send one subagent per group to attack, recording without fixing. Run the impersonation subagent at high effort. Then fix everything yourself from their lists, rerun every test, and give me a before-and-after table. Delete the test accounts and data at the end. For installing the plugin or changing dashboard settings, give me the steps and I'll do it."

imo this is the bigger story.

Look at the JVM ecosystem. It solves the “linker is slow” problem by adopting loaders instead. Generics are type-erased (unlike Rust). And yet, it feels very slows because apps use too many dependencies. Booting an app loads a ton of jars etc.

Instead of 50 tool calls dumping raw output into context, the agent writes one script that does the work and returns only the answer
Faster, cheaper, and the context stays clean
