I feel like "turning $100k into a million" requires less intelligence than "surviving on welfare" or even better "getting out of poverty". Could make a better starting point for an alternative to Turing Test. Thoughts on how we could design such a test? bloomberg.com/news/newslette…
In Canada first welfare check arrives 1 month after you declare having no $ and no income. If you make some income, it is deduced from your welfare. If you hide it and they find out, they cut your check monthly to reimburse themselves.
AI would at least need to maintain its own existence (pay for energy consumption, internet connection, service fees, etc) starting with no money, so it would need to borrow money first.

"To tame" can be used both with a domination/subjugation intent (eg. taming a lion) and with a companionship/empathetic intent (eg. taming a fox, as in "Le Petit Prince"). In French, there are two words: "dompter" and "apprivoiser". Are there two words in English too?

15 years ago my PhD advisor taught me One Weird Trick for editing your own writing. Edit **back to front**, paragraph by paragraph. I still use it and it still surprises me how well it works. When I get my students to do it, it often blows their minds. Try it!
