What a day taking #AWritingChance to Parliament yesterday. It's been the biggest joy to work on this project for the past year and learn from the brilliant people at @NewWritingNorth @jrf_uk. We want to work together to build a fairer, more inclusive and representative industry✨

A survivor of domestic abuse says she feared for her life while enduring physical and emotional abuse by her ex-partner. Nia Gibbs-Williams is sharing her story in the hopes of encouraging other women in similar situations to come forward. She spoke to ITV News as her former partner Andrew Beckett was sentenced to two years and two months in prison. Beckett pled guilty to assault by beating, common assault and ABH (actual bodily harm). Nia hopes that her experience will help others, saying: “If I can help one person, you know, I've saved a life then.” If you are affected by the issues raised, you can find help at itv.com/helplines

“A healthy democracy requires an on-going conversation between the public and the public servant – a conversation in which journalists play a key, mediating role. My project argues that who gets to play that role, and how they do it, matters," said Sofia.

Our Welsh fellow @sofiaelew explained why the crisis of journalism in Wales is a crisis of democracy too.
“Journalism exists to inform the electorate”, she said. “But almost three-quarters of Welsh citizens say they don’t get enough information about how Wales is run through the media.”
Heard so many stories about The Troubador growing up and all the legendary bands that played there. It was such a treat to do this piece!
Ever fancied a sneak peek inside a former nightclub frozen in the 90s?

A few years ago, some friends and I talked about setting up a mentoring scheme to help connect people from our hometown to the career advice and early opportunities we wished we'd had when were starting out.
A few years on, and we're now onto our second set of mentees!
1/2
✅ From Neath Port Talbot?
✅ Keen to set off on your career path but not sure where to begin?
Possible Pathways is running a free mentoring scheme for people who want advice about careers that are typically competitive to break into
Get in touch here 👉 linktr.ee/possiblepathways
It's such a joy to continue working on the scheme (despite everyone's busy, full-time jobs!) and already hear some success stories.
It's a passion project I hope we'll continue for a long time.
We're mostly on Insta, so connect with us there!: instagram.com/possiblepathwa…

Thousands of jobs will be lost in my hometown of Port Talbot as Tata confirmed plans to close both blast furnaces.
It is devastating news for many as people come to terms with what this means for their livelihoods.
We broadcast a special programme from the town for @ITVWales🧵

As many of you know, this is a subject very personal to me too as well as a professional interest. I’m immensely grateful to Megan and Gareth Morgan for their openness, honesty and bravery to speak about this upsetting subject for an @ITVWales report. Thank you too @FCNcharity 👇
In 2022, Megan's farming grandmother died with dementia. She did not have a will and the financial and emotional impact of her death have been huge.
