Great to see Africa leading the way w/ airline executive gender diversity. CEO roundtable at @AfricanAirlines AGA has 2 of 6 female CEOs: Yvonne Makolo from @RwandaAir and Amal Mint Maouloud from Mauritania Airlines. 33% isn’t great but well above similar events in other regions

Unusual outside exhibit space at @AfricanAirlines AGA in Mauritius. Kind of hot but view of the beach and sea makes up for it

This is my last week as CAPA’s chief analyst. It has been a privilege providing in depth analysis and insight the last 8.5 years. I am sad it has come to an end but excited to start a new chapter as an independent analyst/consultant with the launch of sobieaviation.com

Air Malta makes an interesting case study on whether there is still a role for a small flag carrier in a market dominated by short haul services and served by large, fast expanding LCCs. centreforaviation.com/analys…
Indeed @FHavg. It was 2009 when Nick joined SIA and @SivaG became Asia managing editor @FlightGlobal. Small world as Siva replaced me as Deputy Asia Editor in 2006. @ghimlay, who just joined oneworld, replaced me in DC when I left Flight in 2011. A month of worthy promotions!
Congratulations to @SivaG on being named the new VP for Public Affairs at Singapore Airlines, succeeding Nicholas Ionides. Siva succeeded Nicholas at @FlightGlobal as Asia managing editor in the early 2010s. History is repeating itself for these two men, this time at SIA.

The two A330-900s built last year for Wow air but never delivered due to Wow's financial problems have found a new home at Garuda Indonesia LCC subsidiary Citilink. Configuration is far from ideal and initial route decision (Frankfurt) rather puzzling. tiny.cc/dsywaz

Chinese LCC international expansion has become a huge concern for SE Asian LCCs, which have an 87% share of LCC ASEAN-China seats. This will be a major structural change that cannot be stopped as Chinese LCCs pursue aggressive expansion in ASEAN. tiny.cc/xwxsaz
