Boys will be boys. Ask who that sentence is actually for. Some kids get grace for everything. Some kids get grace for nothing. Neither one is how you raise a human being.
Ice cream and shark attacks rise together. Ice cream isn't the cause. Heat is. Ask what else drives both.

The one-drop rule was paperwork, not just prejudice. Virginia birth certificates (1924). Louisiana's blood-fraction law (repealed 1983). Virginia (1924). Luisiana (derogada en 1983). Censo: una sola raza hasta el 2000.

I asked about 100college students if they’d heard of the one-drop rule. 2 had. Louisiana repealed its version in 1983.The law ended. The rule didn’t.

Three children and a teacher died in Bend, Oregon. This should never happen. Not with children. Period. It keeps happening, which makes it a policy problem. Punto. Pero sigue pasando.

Conform, and maybe he lives. Don't, and maybe he doesn't. My son only plays with toy guns in our yard. I know that's conforming. I also know I'm terrified.

Connection instead of correction isn't a thing. You do both, at the same time. Your kid can't jump on picnic tables at a public park. Not because society says so. Because other people are sitting there. The reason was never obedience. It's that other people exist. Part two>

Nobody has ever called my child spirited. Not once. Kids will be kids was never written for us.

Clinicians keep treating a protective practice like a risk. Preparing a kid for bias, alone: more anxiety. Paired with cultural identity: protective. A prepared child is not a frightened child. Preparar para el prejuicio, sola: más ansiedad.Con identidad cultural: protectora.

They took memory cards from us and made us pay for storage. They took CDs and DVDs and made us pay for streaming. They took software you could buy once and turned it into a monthly subscription. They took ownership, convenience, and basically everything that used to be a one-time purchase… then somehow made us pay for it every month.

The accommodation error I see most often is not over-accommodating or under-accommodating. It is misclassification. A support with no meaningful cost and a support that quietly forecloses future access look identical in the short term. The cost is hidden.. new carousel up.

BREAKING: Mayor Zohran Mamdani just announced the nation’s most expansive student-facing AI policy. NYC will impose a one-year moratorium on generative AI for students from 2-K through eighth grade, while high schoolers receive twice-yearly AI critical-thinking instruction. A new screen-time policy will also prioritize real, human teaching. “Children need their teachers and human connection in order to learn and grow.” NYC is drawing a clear line: protect childhood, preserve human instruction and prepare older students to navigate AI responsibly.

Three separate constructs get flattened into one word in parent-facing content: Autonomy-supportive Controlling structure Demand removal. Only the 1st is support. The 3rd gets labeled as support and produces a predictable result: a gap between age and functional skills/adaptive

All of this and more. If more of the world was like Dolly, society would be amazing !
It’s hard to imagine many people having a bigger impact than Dolly Parton. Born in a one-room cabin, she earned 11 Grammys and an Emmy, built a business empire, helped millions of kids learn to read, and — as if that wasn’t enough — helped accelerate the research that led to the Moderna COVID vaccine. What a life. Michelle and I are thinking of Dolly’s family and her many, many fans.

Your family has been accommodating him his whole life. They just never named it. BTW It’s not a poverty workaround. BUT family accommodations can’t convert. The school counts what has a name. You’re not admitting a failure. You’re filing a claim.

“Don’t leave fast at drop-off, you’ll teach them abandonment.” First day. My kid was hysterical I hugged him, said I’d be back at pickup, RAN hid behind a tree because I’m a professional & a mother and those don’t always agree. The long goodbye doesn’t ⬇️ the distress. It ⬆️ it

Some kids don’t struggle to make friends. They struggle to START. They hover, wait to be invited, come home saying nobody played with them. That’s not shyness. It’s “IDK what to do” Practice with our back to school kit! bit.ly/4ctNtjg

If your kid wears the pirate costume to school every day, he’s going to get made fun of. “Let them be unique!” with zero preparation isn’t acceptance. It’s exposure with good branding. Prepare them. Then let them wear whatever they want.
