Hmm. We’ve had an e-mail from a TV production company asking for participants for a dating show. Not sure what they’re trying to say…
Great to be back for our first rehearsal in a few months. Good to see everyone and lots of new faces too.
At a lose end tonight in Stockbridge? Come along at 7.30 to hear us play Brahms, Dvořák at Justice in Stockbridge Parish Church

Assistant conductor Bryn takes to the podium.
@VAScotland actually, tomorrow may just be possible. Our chairperson will try and phone you tomorrow.
@VAScotland hopefully we can fix something up though.
@VAScotland apologies for not replying sooner - need to run it by the committee / conductor so this week not possible
Tonight’s rehearsal brought to you with added contra bassoon (which is sounding very cool indeed)
An unprecedented 3 bassoons tonight.
Interesting new project @GradeOneOrch. Worth a look if you’ve ever fancied giving an instrument a try (or fancy trying a new one)
Fun first concert of term, although it seems Rachmaninov’s Isle of the Dead may be harder to play than it sounds.
That video should explain all the tweets about bonging over the last few weeks.

The slow movement of Vaughan Williams’ A London Symphony has some beautiful writing
Congratulations to John Eccles on the world premiere of his Prelude & Caprice (not every day you get to write that)
Important things first. Nancy violin has won the competition for the best shoes with a nice violet pair
Plus not one but two harps. And bongs. What more could you ask for on an Saturday night?
