Big thanks to the partners putting up prizes, credits and tools for builders: @visa, @claudeai, @awscloud, @metalntwx, @t0finance, @Base44 and @coinbase.
This is consistent with the excellent research @Mandala_econ recently did for @airwallex. 🧵
Among SMBs on @airwallex (reminder we cover markets around the world not just US) those paying for AI tools in Q3'25 grew processed volume 54% over the next year.
Non-adopters: 29%. They also trade with 2.7x more countries (8 vs 3).
Correlation, not causation. But AI may turn out to be a growth story, not just a cost story.
Australian SMB customers on the Airwallex platform, on average, experienced 4 percentage points higher revenue growth than non-Airwallex customers.

For years, selling in China or India was something only the biggest brands could afford.
Rahul Gandhi, CEO of @crossterrainc, built a platform that lets brands of any size go into those markets without building everything from scratch.

Third, independently measure AI use in financial management as a distinct source of SMB productivity.
We need better evidence on which tools are saving time, improving forecasting and helping owners make better decisions.
First, deliver practical AI education for SMB financial workflows through existing govt small business education programs and trusted intermediaries.
For many small businesses, the barrier is not interest in AI. It is knowing where to start and how to apply it to everyday finance tasks.
ICYMI, @airwallex made a submission to the 🇦🇺 Joint Select Committee on Artificial Intelligence.
Australian small businesses are already using digitisation and automation to spend less time on repetitive financial tasks and more time running and growing their businesses.
This isn't the sexy stuff, but it's the small incremental productivity improvements that Australia needs... 🧵 ⬇️

Independent research by @Mandala_econ found that Airwallex SMB customers save 12.4 hours a week on financial tasks, four times more than comparable businesses.
This is just the beginning - here's our thoughts on how more SMBs can benefit from this time saving.
The next phase of AI in finance isn’t just better advice. It’s agents taking action across accounts, entities and currencies on your behalf, within the rules you set.

Replying to @PranavkSood
@PranavkSood of @airwallex said the rise of personal AI agents means it’s a bad time to be a business built on inertia, and a good time to help customers do what they actually want.

There is a lot of conversation about making individual finance workflows smarter but there's a bigger idea.
What happens when the business account itself becomes intelligent, global and capable of taking action?
The future of global banking is bright. More this week!

The idea that a founder has better things to do than communicate publicly and directly about the company they’re building and, when necessary, defend it against attacks and outsource that job to others is ludicrous.
We need more calm voices in the AI debate. A big thanks to @Clarke_Melissa for her conversation with
@USSC's Olivia Shen today.
I learnt a lot by Mel and Olivia's methodical examination of the Medicare breach, and the challenges ahead. No hyperbole, just good public debate we can all learn from.
More of this pls.
