Bobby Benton is a trainer of world champions (O'Shaquie Foster, Regis Prograis). Yet despite success, he toils in relative anonymity in the sport. Although quiet and unassuming, he's not one to be underestimated.
My column (link in bio):
Great job by Andrew Paitner there. Loves his confidence walking off the mound knowing he got the out.
Joshua isn’t going to outbox his way past Tyson Fury. It doesn’t matter who’s in his corner. It’s all about knockdowns and/or knockout for him. That’s his shot.
He had every opportunity to stick around at 130 when he was an active fighter. If it was such a “dream,” why did he ruin in by moving up to 135? 🤷♂️
🚨 Vasiliy Lomachenko’s manager, Egis Klimas, says Loma is only coming back to fulfill his dream of becoming undisputed champion at 130 pounds 👀
He says Lomachenko wants the winner of Navarrete vs Foster and is also eyeing Anthony Cacace right now.
Klimas also says the time off has helped Loma’s body a lot and believes he’ll be even better when he comes back.

I was forced to watch every Michigan game two years ago. I never saw it with JJ McCarthy. I was absolutely shocked he was drafted in the first round. If he would have been drafted where he belonged -- 3rd or 4th round, he might have had a better chance of developing.
I have a new article in October's Ring Magazine on what a cutman does. Speaking with Mike Rodriguez @Boxerrodz, we discuss the medicines a cutman uses and how a cutman works proactively and reactively. The magazine is available now on newsstands and via digital subscription.
The Brewers and Rays having the most wins in their respective leagues is a tad inconvenient for the powers that be. Not that it will necessarily change anything.
The irony is Fury-Joshua promotes itself. Will be a sellout and a huge blockbuster regardless of who’s promoting it.
I had Inoue winning 115-112 in an excellent fight. Really sharp counterpunching was the difference. He also was hurt badly in the 7th. Had to gut that out.
Ref been on point so far. Both guys have gone down. Neither was a legit knockdown. Ref got both right.
The best descriptor I can give for Takuma is tidy. That doesn’t sound like a lot, but everything is purposeful. It is a real skill.
