A Cantonese joke I suspect most of you won’t get. My wife made a few meals for me for lunch, and then froze them, labeling them β€œA”, β€œB”, and β€œC”. Today there was one left in the freezer, so she told me to eat meal β€œC”. So I asked, are you basically asking me to β€œSik C”? 🀭 πŸ’©

Dear @AmazonMGMStudio & @PrimeVideo, What you have chosen to do with Stargate is a horrible decision. You greenlit a show made by the original writers and including original actors, continuing the original story while adding new content to it. The fans were elated. Then you suddenly say "it caters to the fans too much, the fans will like it too much." And you cancel it. Then you ignore the fans for 4 months. Completely ignored everything. Stargate went HUGE after that news. Then you pick a woman with no ties to the IP at all. No history, no love, nothing. And you reboot it. Why? Why are you hitting the fans so hard? Why are you doing this? We don't want a reboot. We dont want what you want. You work for us, remember? We pay you. Yet you ignore the entire audience and spit in its face. With a smile. How dare you. Seriously. How freaking dare you. Literally every single IP in all of creation has been hijacked by activists and destroyed. Stargate was all that was left. "There's no agenda!" Yeah, right. There's definitely an agenda. Congratulations, @AmazonMGMStudio. You successfully gave an entire fanbase the biggest middle finger ever. We get it. Message received.

When did politics become the litmus by which people judge each other? Used to be that people could β€œagree to disagree” and still get along. These days it seems a lot of people are radically galvanized against folks that doesn’t share their blend of political flair. Inconceivable!

These little cars you see all over Shanghai, technically for disabled people, are such a joy to see. I can’t put into words why, but I love seeing them all over the city.

My kids were born after 9/11. To them (and every other American born after this tragedy), today is just history. The cause for inconvenience every time they go to the airport. For the rest of us, a quote from Desmond Tutu sums it up: "The price of freedom is eternal vigilance."

My wife is jonesing for the new #apple #duo - she has a 14Pro (technically my old iPhone 14 Pro). I have an iphone 16 Pro. I’m just patiently waiting for the iPhone 18 base model. Are we hooked in the Apple ecosystem? Possibly but what else are we going to drop $3k on? #sarcasm

Like these two, I wonder how many people will be looking at the upcoming eclipse with no eye protection?

My refrigerator died a glorious death a few weeks ago. Thankfully we got another, but now the struggle is organizing my travel magnets on it. Does anyone else do this?

I think the thing that annoys me the most in #hongkong these days is the little bags that people get at #mcdonalds to shake flavor into their French fries. Weird I know.

Tried the new β€œQ-Train” in Hong Kong (replacing the older MTR train lines) this morning. Honestly it’s not bad. Cleaner but not as smooth as the older British trains.

Every couple of years I feel the need to (re)read the Paul Harvey of Hong Kong. My Dad actually has all his books. ⁦@NuryVittachi⁩
