The sovereignty of God and responsibility of man are two pillars that begin here on earth and are reconciled only when they meet in heaven. Sound theologians don't waste much time debating the subject, because it's fruitless to do so. All the Lord's people do eventually embrace it, God sees to that.

You can have everything this world can give you and then still be miserable, because sometimes the one thing you REALLY wanted you can't have. And money can't buy it, fame can't secure it. Rush Limbaugh had everything, and he just loved the NFL and pro football. Being a part of it was a dream to Limbaugh. He finally did get to be a part of it, when he was offered a job by ESPN as a pro football announcer. A "dream come true" for Rush Limbaugh. But, they took it away from him. It was a "defeat snatched from the jaws of victory" as some jokingly say (a play on the decades old sports phrase "victory snatched from the jaws of defeat"). They embarrassed him, and no doubt, they hurt him pretty badly as well. Limbaugh thought he had been hired to maybe add some social commentary, some "spice," on current happenings in the world of pro football. So that's what he did. He said that the main reason so many people, including the media, were talking about the successful black quarterback Donovan McNabb was because, chiefly, he was indeed black. (Most pro football quarterbacks are white.) Well as one can imagine that went over like a lead balloon. Maybe not so much with NFL fans (because they likely agreed with Limbaugh) but definitely with ESPN hierarchy and management. Talking about race is a big no-no with the establishment media, unless one stays within the parameters of the established narrative. Limbaugh died as one of the most well-known men in America and with a net worth of an unbelievable six hundred million dollars. But even with all that, he was still unhappy - at least when it came to what he really wanted. Money does answer a lot of problems. A famous woman once said, "I've been rich and I've been poor, and believe me, rich is better." While that is true in many ways, oftentimes (besides exposing a person to a world of potential sorrow through temptations), money doesn't get you the one thing, or things, that you really, really want.
