I used to think I loved helping people because I was just a kind person. Then I learned ADHD brains get dopamine from solving problems, being needed, and making things better. So now I know I am kind and chemically rewarded.

He really explained how to do hard things as an ADHD person

If your friends aren’t patient with you even when they know you are AuDHD, they're not your friends.

People don’t realize how much chronic illness steals spontaneity.
You can’t just say yes.
You can’t just go.
Nothing is simple.
Every choice becomes a calculation of pacing, planning, and preparing.
Life stops being carefree when your body punishes you for every misstep.

A habit worth building:
Tell people the specific impact they had on you. Not "thanks for everything." But, “the way you handled that meeting taught me confidence."
Generic praise is forgotten. Most people have no idea what they do well. Show them.

I did the math and figured out if Gabe was the same distance as the sun he'd have to be about 8 Earths tall to appear this large

Immense planning and technical precision was required for this absolutely preposterous (but real) view: I captured my friend @BlackGryph0n transiting the sun during a skydive.
This might be the first photo of it's kind in existence. See a video of this moment in the reply 👇

Replying to @quesadaaa_
neurodivergent bedtime = “i survived the day, now i need 3 hours of silence to process the war crime that was small talk.” sleep can wait, decompression is sacred.

I think we all need to talk more about how hyperactivity isn’t always about movement.
It’s about energy the brain can’t easily regulate.
Some of us learned to make it look tidy on the outside, while our minds are racing, looping, or ruminating underneath.
Just because you can’t see someone’s hyperactivity doesn’t mean it’s not there.

this is especially prevalent in ADHD btw
you can view ADHD as a disorder/difficulty in loop management
the mind keeps opening new loops while struggling to park or close old ones (dopaminergic dysregulation), so the loops continuously draw cognitive & attentional bandwidth away

ADHD, Autism, and AuDHD are comorbid (common in conjunction with) EDS

Neurodivergents will be like ‘I’m so tired’ and then refuse to sleep because they haven’t had enough me time after surviving the day.
