Saints, when discussing tense matters with fellow Christ-followers, it can be helpful to (1) use biblical language & paradigms, avoiding secular combat rhetoric & (2) engage as a family member seeking to persuade, rather than a lobbyist or activist seeking to maneuver an opponent

Corporate greed is out of control. Just about ever commercial on ESPN is about gambling or 'Prediction' markets, which is gambling. So many college students and families will obliterated by gambling addiction. They don't care about you. Be wise my friends.
“Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.” (Proverbs 31:30)
As a husband and girl-dad, I don’t like the objectification (female and male) in our society. A woman can’t even age without being criticized for … AGING 🤦🏾♂️

During the Virginia Ratifying Convention in 1788, Madison argued that "to suppose that any form of government will secure liberty or happiness without any virtue in the people, is a chimerical idea."
For a generation evil/corruption > virtue; all three branches and the people 🙏🏾
“A good name is better than precious ointment ...” (Ecclesiastes 7:1)
In a time of over-sharing, virtue-signaling, tribalism, & self-brand-building, it’s nice to hear of the many (many!) neighbor-love deeds of a celeb of celebs (part of Americana) … deeds she didn’t publicize
the news provides daily examples of the biblical truth regarding greed and sin …
“For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evils. It is through this craving that some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many pangs.”
1 Timothy 6:10
Two Penn State University fraternities are at the center of a cocaine trafficking ring bust, leading to charges against 14 people, authorities announced on Monday.
According to the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General, the cocaine was cut and packaged in the Delta Upsilon and Sigma Chi houses, sometimes by pledges as an indoctrination into the frats. The drugs were mostly distributed to other Penn State students.

Chasing "amazement" is a normal mark of a youthful faith. We rightfully celebrate arenas filled with young people; hands raised... tears streaming... "full surrender."
But as you age, the pursuit of God often becomes quieter. The craving for spiritual highs gives way to a deeper awe. There is glory in the mundane, in daily faithfulness, in seeking God through boredom, disappointment, and ordinary obedience.
Purpose shifts from self-fulfillment to vocation; from what God can do for me to how He has uniquely gifted me to serve His mission.
The beauty of maturity is a faith that is battle-tested, steady, and rooted. Jesus calls us to have faith like a child, but not to remain childish.
Mature faith possesses a depth and wisdom that only years of walking with Him can produce.

America is a great country 🇺🇸
Our aspirational founding documents were distinct in the 18th century. The equality of people, created by God, is a distinct biblical truth claim. Additionally, we have rags-to-riches mobility stories; most nations don’t.
I shouldn’t be surprised, but I am - about the caliber and breadth of athletes that allow their NIL to be used to promote sports gambling.
principle > expediency
The World Cup fans have been something to observe - enthusiasm and
zeal. Their national zeal reminds me of how some friends felt as we observed the U.S. Women’s Track Team at Paris Olympics.
Anyone go to Paris? Do fans show up with that same zeal at the Olympics?
Saints, sometimes small things, like a malfunctioning parking garage card and POOR customer service, can expose significant sanctification areas for growth 🤦🏾♂️

“Woe to you, scribes/Pharisees/hypocrites! For you tithe … and have neglected the weightier matters of the law: justice and mercy and faithfulness.” (Matthew23:23)
Whoa, the teenage-me had NO idea how critical this rebuke was. Some of us give NO weight to … the weighty matters
“What has been is what will be … and there is nothing new under the sun.” (Ecclesiastes1:9)
always been folks (even Christians) who thought:
- racial-chattel-slavery was a good (and godly!) thing
- and Civil Rights, fair housing, voting rights legislation were bad

minor prophets summer in our pulpit:
One thing about the prophets, one is reminded that faithfulness to God, and love for His people, doesn’t always mean one will be in a happy, cheerful mood.
No need for the saints to “present” false hype in times of spiritual/social decline.
Saints, may we have a sanctified, Spirit-empowered fidelity to God, through Jesus Christ the Lord 🙌🏾
“For all the peoples walk each in the name of its god, but we will walk in the name of the Lord our God forever and ever.” (Micah4:5)
