The run is tomorrow. Wish me luck!
My mother died 30 years ago after a long and difficult illness. I'm running the Oxford Half this October in her memory and to raise money for Occtopus, the Oxford Colon Cancer Trust.
They do good work, and any donations would be gratefully received.

This amazing little tool simply draws all streets in any city you want. As examples here are the town I grew up in (20k residents) and the city I live in (5M residents). Have a play with it. The exported screenshots make great desktop backgrounds. Source: buff.ly/2uht4vJ

Last time there was a major solar #eclipse in the US, there was also a spike in searches for "Why do my eyes hurt?" and "My eyes hurt after eclipse". It literally tracked the path of the eclipse across the map. ☀️🕶️

This summer, people are interested in having an epic movie experience. Search interest in @IMAX is at a 15-year high and "is there an imax 70mm near me" is a breakout search in the past month. 🎥
So sad to hear this. One of the nicest men in journalism and an excellent reporter with a sharp nose for real stories.
Very sad to hear that the great David Hencke has died.
A brave reporter who never shied away from holding power account - cash for questions and the Peter Mandelson loan scandal were just two of his many history-defining scoops.
He was also a lovely man: generous to colleagues coming up through the ranks and kind to his many friends at the Guardian, across Westminster and beyond.
