How many GW are really the same prospected two offtakers? Probably 300 at least
Texas just froze new data center permits: - Its queue went from 63 GW to 474 GW in 18 months, more than 5x record peak demand - Only 9.5 GW is approved and about 4.3 GW is actually running - The rest is duplicates, speculation, and developers who have never plugged in a GPU a16z's @rmcentush on why the grid can't build for that many maybes: a16z.news/p/why-texas-is-mak…

Good Morning from Germany, where factory orders plunged 10.6% in August MoM vs expectations of just -1%. But the headline needs context: orders for aircraft, ships, trains & military vehicles slumped almost 62% after surging nearly 130% in July. Excl large orders, demand slipped just 0.1%. The cushion: order books held a record 9 mths of work in July. The concern: underlying demand remains weak. bloomberg.com/news/articles/…

A major unlock for better lithium production. @Lilac_Solutions and @lake_resources Kachi project secured South America’s first commercial-scale DLE permit with brine reinjection—advancing a path to more critical-material supply with less land and water. bth-energy.com/4htvCfx

AI capability is only half the equation. The right tools, context and workflow can turn a capable model into a much more effective problem-solving system. The future of AI is as much about workflow design as model intelligence.
In physics, an “impedance mismatch” occurs when two systems each work well but are poorly matched. In this Science Blog guest post, Harvard physicist Matthew Schwartz argues that something similar is happening with AI and science. LLMs are capable at many things, but working with them as you would with a human collaborator isn’t currently the best way to elicit their scientific strengths. To address this mismatch, Schwartz created a toolkit for exact calculations in quantitative science. Because similar calculations often emerge in very different areas of science, Claude found connections to ecology, population genetics, and a dozen other fields, and Schwartz worked with domain experts to steer it towards interesting questions. I am glad our IROS demo was so well received
Some favorites from IROS 2026 1. whole body manipulation demo by agility 2. workshop on geometry, which had some elegant uses of SE3 symmetry and explicit contact handling 3. hammering in nails and holding a pen with Rysen

You don’t need the perfect ladder to start climbing. Sometimes we spend so much time planning, optimizing and waiting for the right conditions that we forget the simplest way to make progress: start. Your first solution may be imperfect. Your path may look messy. You will probably adjust along the way. But an imperfect step forward still takes you further than the perfect plan you never started. Progress rewards action, not perfection. 📢 I’ll be presenting our work on a self-reconfigurable manipulator tomorrow at #IROS2026! 🎤 Oral Presentation 🕘 9:00 AM | Room 406 📄 Paper #710 📌 Poster Presentation 📍 B7 North | After the oral session Please stop by—we look forward to discussing our work with you!
🎉 Our paper on a self-reconfigurable manipulator has been accepted to #IROS2026! We developed an easy-to-operate, strong electromechanical docking mechanism that lets the robot dock/undock its own modules and reconfigure its body. This work is based on my undergraduate thesis!

Oura IPO erstmal abgesagt, trotz "starker Nachfrage". Ja, nee, is' klar... 10x Umsatz für eine Hardware-Firma, deren Altaktionäre auscashen wollen – das war dann selbst mit Health- und Wearable-Narrativ too much für einen erfolgreichen Börsengang. Markthygiene ist intakt.
