Finally visited USS Constitution myself in Boston during Structures Congress. It is the only wood battle ship still afloat and in service around the world😉

At @fsWoodLab , I was able to hold a real wood sample (live oak) from the hull of USS Constitution (and copper dowel) sent to FPL for testing during the 1995 restoration!
