Thoughts on the Liverpool squad ⬇️⬇️⬇️
Some thoughts on Liverpool's interesting/out-of-left field roster construction for their first ever squad to suit up in the British SLB:
Liverpool's recruitment is really, REALLY stretching some boundaries here. They haven't recruited anyone that's averaged over 15AST% in their entire careers and no one even close to even a 1 AST/USG (benchmark of someone that can masquerade as a playmaker) beside Tention, who's more of a pass-minded combo that spaces the floor and has quite limited downhill ability/handle to create advantages moreso opting to shoot from deep (will struggle to take on excessive on-ball usage in our athletic league).
They're clearly looking to play big, switch across all positions (hence Okonkwo who's good at that and their big 'combos' like Greg Williams Jr. with strong frames) and substitute the role of 'point' across multiple ball handlers (Eberhert/Sulaiman as examples) in a dribble drive offense, with no real candidate for a primary (highest usage% for anyone is around 20%).
Clearly defense first, but big risk from my perspective - almost like an anti-Cheshire. There's a real lack of offensive juice and creation there that, even despite the defensive qualities, create a lot of question-marks in my mind.
The question I am looking at is what happens with the injunction in the US against the NCAA. Will we be seeing a whole rookie pro class going back to college? What will that mean for SLB and the market value of other imports?
So @Liverpool_bball have finally been announced and we can't wait to find out whats next! Likely 5/6 weeks to go until the season starts. A lot to hear about but initial comments are good about setting up for decades and not just for now. Curious to see how the city reacts to 🏀

Here it is!
The ex-NBA draftee, and propelling force to Juventus' first LKL finals with a ridiculous statline (65TS% on solid usage [22% usage], 44% from deep, 5% block rate as a POA defending wing), is taking his talents to London - what is he like?

HUGE move. The best British prospect we've seen sign in our top flight since Cam Hildreth (and, beyond his tunnel vision that I hope he fixes, might even be a higher calibre of talent). 6'6" combo-guard w/ very tough, multi-faceted scoring game & extended range.
NEW SIGNING: EMILIS ZIBUDA ✍️🦁
London Lions are excited to announce the signing of rising prospect Emilis Zibuda for the 2026-27 season, adding one of the brightest young talents in European youth basketball to the squad.
The 18-year-old guard/forward returns to London after developing his game in the United States and arrives with an impressive résumé. Zibuda has represented Lithuania at youth international level, attended the NBA & FIBA Basketball Without Borders Europe camp, won the camp's three-point contest, and most recently averaged 14.0 points per game for the Lions at the EuroLeague adidas Next Generation Tournament.
Welcome to the Lions, Emilis! 👊
