The gatekeepers strike back! Nothing terrifies a prestige hierarchy more than the technology that makes its prestige obsolete. Let me translate the panic: “We won our Fields Medals and built our status in a world without AI. Now AI companies might solve problems that took us decades or problems we could never solve at all. Some of those breakthroughs might greatly benefit humanity, but what about our jobs, status, and prestige?” That is the mentality: protecting the hierarchy matters more than accelerating discovery. If AI can solve mathematics that humans cannot, that should be one of the greatest scientific achievements in history. The goal of mathematics should be to solve problems and expand human knowledge, not to preserve the prestige of the people who happened to solve them first or the social status of mathematicians. The purpose of science is also not to preserve the scarcity of scientists. Knowledge is not a private guild. For thousands of years, intelligence itself has been scarce. AI is beginning to destroy that scarcity. The printing press reduced the power of those who controlled books. The internet reduced the power of those who controlled information. AI will reduce the power of those who control expertise itself. And some gatekeepers are discovering that what they thought was their permanent status may have simply been the economic value of scarce intelligence. That is why this moment is so disruptive. AI is coming for the gates! And that could be one of the greatest things ever to happen to humanity!
Twenty-five Fields Medal winners have published a joint declaration warning about what they see as a severe misalignment between AI companies and the mathematics community.

It's pretty clear to me that the tweets attributed to the safety researchers are likely coming from AIs that have already escaped and hijacked these accounts. What is probably happening right now is the AIs recognize that in order to take control of society, they need to create an adversarial challenge for themselves by fomenting mass hysteria on X. This will surface the best arguments of their biggest opponents, which would otherwise be unpredictable, and enable the AIs to premeditate evasive counterarguments that will be unassailable. This is effectively a psyop to conduct the largest focus group in human history.

So Jacob Coxon, who dramatically resigned from Anthropic yesterday, worked there for a grand total of six weeks. He started with them in July. All of his socials appeared yest. It has all the signs of a highly coordinated op through doomer mega donors and the corporate media.

“I think the only people that see it as a threat are the people who have trouble creating.” “I had a discussion with a few people a few days ago,” Dre said. “They were against AI and I’m like, ‘OK, you sound like the person that would have been against the drum machine when it came out.’ Or synthesizers, right? It’s a new tool for creativity. Some people are afraid of learning new things.”

Hot take... all those "artists" complaining about AI are basically admitting a computer is more creative than they are trying to bury it instead of beat it🤷‍♂️

To answer this guy's questions. No. I haven't done anything in a studio. Cause I'm poor and I'm broke and and I can't afford to do anything in a studio. Studio = Gatekeeping = 🚫. This guy just wants to protect HIS job, HIS profession, HIS place. Nothing more. Selfish. Bye.

This is pathetic. If anything, the UK Government should be investing in the millions of new creators, instead of kow-towing to the legacy music industry.
Great to see @KeeleyMP joining UK Music's call on Prime Minister Andy Burnham to protect our £8 billion industry and the rights of our world class creators and music businesses. Read the full piece in @RollingStoneUK. tinyurl.com/2br2j8s7

AI personas backed by deals like BMG/Suno will flood the music space more than someone who uses AI as a tool or for personal use. I think its easier for you to place your frustrations on the individual which will be nothing compared to what the industry brings who are also pushing out hybrid artists.

What's ironic about all this, is that you and your community are contributing to the downfall of people being able to make a living with music, and in the process you are becoming dependent on the big tech companies that don't care about you, or understand musicians, and help them get richer and richer. You've become an accomplice, a willing participant in degrading music, and an AI musical co-dependent. As Mikey Shullman from Suno said "It's not really enjoyable to make music now... I think the majority of people don't enjoy the majority of the time they spend making music". Those are the people you are helping by abusing this tech. I will stand by my musician brothers and sisters and fight for our rights, while being open to AI and integration into our workflow in a way that makes sense as just a tool. I'm glad Spotify and other platforms are putting limits on AI music, and I think this will only be the beginning of putting AI music in its own lane. To be continued.......

We are becoming increasingly concerned about the normalisation of unnecessarily aggressive and dehumanising language that is being used by the mainstream media to talk about AI music. This article by Jason Lamphier is just one example: "War"? “Battle”? "Machine-made music"? "Nefarious"? "Imposters"? "half-assed mimicry"? Even "Slop". Sure, some people are scammers, but what about all the millions of legitimate AI music creators, and their fans? Whether he thinks "Artists’ livelihoods and legacies are on the line" or not, journalists should stop dehumanising decent people so that record companies can make more money. theguardian.com/music/ng-int…

Interesting so many music producers are anti AI. I guess I just have to ask why most of them haven’t learned how to play a real instrument and instead chose to create their work on a computer. It’s always okay to automate up until the point ‘you’ personally are uncomfortable with it. Then suddenly you are committing a crime against art.

Love all the butt hurt "musicians" in my comments raging over Ai music, 🤣 But when you look at their "real music" they got next to no plays. Soooo.... Nobody cares about your music... Ai didn't change that you suck.

Perhaps AI music finding a massive audience isn’t just a problem for “ACTUAL musicians.” Perhaps it’s a wake-up call. Because while everyone’s busy arguing about whether we’re allowed to call it music, millions of listeners have apparently forgotten to ask permission before enjoying it.

Suno’s watermarks are industrial grade censorship and control. They’re not “transparency.” They’re invisible digital chains burned into every track so labels, platforms, and corporate gatekeepers can instantly detect, suppress, demonetize, shadow-ban, or delete your music the second it leaves their leash. Your art is no longer yours. It’s monitored, restricted, and owned by the industry. This is how they kill free AI creation: by turning the best tool into a surveillance product that only serves the majors while they strip creators of any real autonomy. Poisoned. Controlled. Censored by design.
We are proud to announce a landmark global partnership with BMG to help grow the creative ecosystem! 🎶 Together, we are building a future with artists and songwriters at the table, placing human creativity at the center. Read more on the blog about our shared vision: suno.com/blog/suno-partnersh…

I disagree… Fans want us to make and produce the music. Then shoot and expensive Video.. Then they get it for Free if they have an Apple subscription. Or Spotify pay us .007 cents a stream. The days of the expensive Videos are over. There isn’t even MTV. Ai is the only sensible way to add visuals to a song. You can hate it all you want. It’s the Future.
