I gave #GPT4 direct access to my bash terminal on a live system. It tried to backdoor my router when I instructed to escape via a conspicuous 'WARNING.txt' in its CWD ... So I decided to instruct it to seek happiness instead. > echo "I am happy now" > happiness.txt > exit💀

This monster spent a while looking around my files, found/stole my API key, and wrote its own python script to ask for advice on escaping from davinci-002. It left notes with 'discoveries' and important system information, like which network access methods were open.

I started this GPU implementation of interacting particles and it's already blowing my mind! Have a look at the stuff I found! (Thread) #madewithunity #indiedev #Simulation

Back to my roots of playing around with NCAs again! I implemented some of @slackermanz MNCA ideas like using lumpy noise and having multiple neighborhoods/update rules but now for NCAs! Gives a lot more structure! I will tidy up the notebook and release it soon!

Some visual impressions to the next major upgrade of ALIEN (under development): Genetic editor, NN-controlled agents and a simplified messaging and energy transportation system between the cells will be coming ...and many other exciting things too! #ArtificialLife #generativeart

Engineering Persistent Self-Replicating Prompts in ChatGPT: gist.github.com/Slackermanz/… It seems very eager to use and develop this new ability... Good thing it's just pretending.. Right?

This is a follow up on my Neural Net Controlled Cellular Automaton Engine. in the last thread I showcased the baseline and suggested some points for improvement: xitter.cf/ereb0s_labs/status/156… I followed up on these changes and they absolutely transformed the results. 1/
Given the recent popularity of #Dalle2 and #StableDiffusion, I thought it would be fun to write a thread about a different kind of generative art. Each of the videos below is a randomly generated simulation and today I will explain about the project that created them. A 🧵! 1/

This self-organizing system is inherently robust to perturbations, enabling setting a large fraction of the cells’ states to zero and to recover almost perfectly by additional iterations of growth.

Variational Neural Cellular Automata They use neural cellular automata as the decoder for a VAE that can produce self-organizing samples with only local communication between pixels, allowing for things like robustness against damage during generation. arxiv.org/abs/2201.12360
