We're going live!
Tonight (well, tonight Sydney time!) I'm going to be doing an off-the-cuff session about how I use GitHub Copilot, things I'm building with it, and tips on how to make the best use of it. 🕧 6pm ADST 🔗 meetup.com/coding-night-anz/…

Meet Agent Buddy! 🤖 A desk buddy for your AI coding agents. It shows when GitHub Copilot, Claude, Codex, Grok and others are working, need you, or are done. Run it on an ESP32 device, or use the new desktop app. No device needed! Website: getagentbuddy.com Repo: github.com/DanWahlin/agent-b… Special thanks to @darrenjrobinson and @bradygaster for their PRs!

The busiest single repo on GitHub saw roughly a billion requests in ONE MONTH. Today, we shared how we’re rebuilding GitHub’s storage layer (without changing how you use GitHub) decoupling compute & storage so reads and writes scale independently. Quicker pushes, pulls, and a platform that stays fast as more agents and developers code. We’re designing against some of the largest workloads on the platform so there’s headroom for everyone. More below on how this works and excited to show you more at @GitHub Universe. 👇
Git activity more than doubled between September 2025 and August 2026, reaching 473.3B events per month. We’re rebuilding our Git infrastructure while GitHub keeps running, creating a foundation for agent-scale software development.

Created a canvas app for Copilot app today that helps me manage dependabot PRs on a project. If there are multiple of the same update (such as typescript-eslint in the picture) I can get it to combine them into a single PR and close all of the individual ones.

Ever watched your coding agent confidently write massive amounts of JavaScript for a simple swipe gesture, only for the animation to stutter? 😅 Watch our side-by-side test: with Modern Web Guidance enabled, the coding agent pulls expert-vetted swipe-to-remove guide into its context window, handling features like scroll snap and intersection observer with ease → goo.gle/mwg

I wrote a blog for @VisualStudio on just how easily you can use the Parallel Stacks view to start debugging memory dumps from production systems - devblogs.microsoft.com/visua… There's a companion blog on the .NET blog about how to write a dump collector

You know what I want, WhatsApp to allow me to create a "subaccount" that I could give to an AI agent in something like @openclaw rather than having to get a phone number, creating a new account for that number, and so on.

More than 800,000 bees have been stolen from properties in Far North Queensland in what beekeepers believe was a highly organised operation. Dozens of colonies were targeted, with brood boxes carefully removed without damaging the hives, leading industry figures to suspect whoever was responsible had specialist knowledge and equipment.
