Unpopular opinion: the best way to grow wrestling is to bring more money into it, not make it free.

In less than a week I have raised 3,300 for my girls program! In my first 3 weeks as their coach I quickly became aware of the gap in resources that still exists for these young ladies. If you’re able- please donate here: gofund.me/561c18651

RAF Debut. Competed 12lbs up from competition weight for me, but when an opportunity presents itself- you take it. So very excited for this new chapter competing on the highest level for @RAFWrestlingUSA. Back to work until we get the results we need 🫶🏻💪🏻

A sport doesn’t thrive if only the world team member can make a living. A sport thrives when the number 6, 8 or even 12th guy on the ladder can continue training and pay bills while they actually build a career.

Another sign of the health of the sport, is when athletes who aren’t on the national team are still competing in their late 20s and early 30s. When an athlete can make a sustainable living without being number one in the sport, it shows depth, opportunity, and growth.

Such a good sign when 3 wrestlers on the world team are in their 30s. We have enough good young guys where we know the US has depth, but it shows guys can make a real living and continue competing. The “you’re still competing at 28?” narrative is shifting.

It just goes to show that women in this sport are forced to jump at any opportunity presented to them, since they are so slim.

Lot of news happening on trash day today But Oklahoma State has completely missed the boat on its women's wrestling program. What a huge flop.
