Was thinking about this...
I was actually at lowest point of my life when I posted this, planning on a suicide attempt on my birthday. Along with a few other things, the love I got on this post helped me push just enough to get past it. And I have finally been at a decent point
This is the banality of evil. RSS, like the nazis, is an evil organization fueled by normal people, including many relatives of mine. People who don't practice empathy or critical thinking, just follow their brainwashed ideologies in the name of religion and nationalism

I did want a flying carโwhen I was seven.
Now I want a stable climate, clean drinking water and for kids to not live in fear of being bombed.

I wish positivity was more recognized as a quality of resilience. People always think I am naive, sheltered or just naturally optimistic, but it does take much more strength to be positive than it does to wallow
In 1943, millions of Indians died in the Bengal Famine under British colonial rule.
The famine struck at the height of WWII, and the British government was more concerned with its war effort than feeding starving Indians it considered expendable.
Winston Churchillโs government rejected repeated appeals for greater food shipments while millions starved.
Imperial priorities took precedence over the lives of the very people Britain claimed the right to govern.
Think about the obscenity of it: Britain ruled India without its peopleโs consent, extracted wealth from the colony, controlled its resources and policies, and then failed to protect millions facing mass starvation.
Yet Churchill is celebrated in the West as a great defender of freedom and democracy.
The Bengal Famine exposes the hypocrisy at the heart of colonialism: an empire that claimed to defend civilization while denying its colonial subjects the most basic right of allโthe right to live.
You cannot claim moral greatness for defending freedom abroad while presiding over mass suffering among the people you refuse to set free.
Honestly I feel so maternal towards these two it kinda makes me dysphoric that I can't birth little daughters like them ๐
