ALT Hello, my name is Hyperlaser. This is a very brief overview of how I manage my everyday life with my scarring. Due to the nature of my scars and how I received them, it has affected my daily life and ability to function in more ways than one, so I’ll try to go over it to the best of my memory.

ALT Speaking of, memory is something that latches onto me some days, and on others seems to slip through my fingers. My doctors say this is because of the nature of the incident, that my head and brain were severely damaged during it, and so as a result I can't remember parts of my life prior to the incident because of it. I can’t remember my face because of it. Certain textures, smells, specific sounds may provoke brief glimpses and sensations of memories, but nothing exact… It’s all fuzzy.

ALT Regarding my morning routine, I am unable to perform my daily hygiene in conventional ways: taking showers is far too intensive on my scars, so I’ve resorted to cleaning myself thoroughly with a damp washcloth and neutral products provided by my doctor, along with bathing in room-temperature water if needed. It is a long process, but it’s something I’ve grown accustomed to over the years. Because it's been so many years since I’ve gotten my burns, sensations such as touch feel pretty normal, albeit different. Occasionally I’ll have flare-ups of numbness, but it’s nothing that impairs me or my work too much.

ALT The main reason I’ve been able to maintain my position as a military contractor is this helmet, provided to me by the Korblox engineering division, which was modified and customized to my fit by my colleague, Subspace Tripmine. Normally, these helmets were used to scan heat signatures across Blackrock’s snowy terrain so we could detect intruders easily in freezing temperatures, but because of my visual impairment, it’s been modified with many more features: The back of the helm stores a saline solution which gets fed to the front of the visor to prevent my eyes from drying out. It is created this way because I lack eyelids and have lost most of my vision-related function; the helmet was modified to account for this specifically. "Is this safe?" "It will be if you sit still and shut up."
