Last week, over 253 tonnes of critical energy equipment from Lithuania reached two Ukrainian regions. The assistance included three power transformers for the Khmelnytskyi region, as well as a 200 MVA autotransformer with 76 pieces of auxiliary equipment for Ukraine’s transmission system operator, Ukrenergo. The equipment will help strengthen Ukraine’s transmission and distribution networks and support repairs to infrastructure damaged by russian attacks. Thank you to our Lithuanian partners, AB Energijos Skirstymo Operatorius (ESO) and Blue/Yellow, for their valuable contribution to Ukraine’s energy resilience. Thank you to @eu_echo for supporting the logistics.

Speaking on behalf of the Baltic States at the #UN Security Council, I warned that Russia's aggression continues to escalate from attacks on Ukrainian cities and civilian infrastructure to drone incursions, sabotage and disinformation targeting European countries. We welcome #Ukraine’s readiness for negotiations and call on Russia to reciprocate. But peace cannot be built on impunity. A lasting settlement must fully respect Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, ensure the return of prisoners and deported children, and deliver accountability for the crime of aggression. #Lithuania, #Latvia and #Estonia remain unwavering in our support of Ukraine. 🇱🇹🇱🇻🇪🇪🇺🇦

Following yesterday’s regrettable decision by the Council of the European Union to delist Russian oligarchs A. Usmanov and M. Fridman from #EU sanctions, I have asked Lithuania’s Minister of the Interior to include them on Lithuania’s national black list. #Lithuania regards these two Russian oligarchs as accomplices to Russia’s war of aggression against #Ukraine and will do its utmost to prevent their possible entry into Lithuania and the Schengen Area. Decisions on asset freeze will follow.

Great meeting with @SecRubio in Washington, D.C. today. Lithuania comes with concrete proposals to strengthen #Lithuania-U.S. cooperation: critical minerals, #PaxSilica, economic security, and stronger deterrence on #NATO’s Eastern Flank. We stand ready to do more as a capable and reliable ally. Strong transatlantic ties remain essential for our shared security and prosperity.

#Lithuania stands in full solidarity with #Germany. The Leipzig incident is another reckless Russian attempt to test our resolve through hostile actions across Europe. We cannot treat these incidents in isolation. They form part of a broader campaign aimed at undermining our security and cohesion. Fully in line with the responsive measures of the German authorities, malign actions have consequences. We remain united with our Allies and partners in increasing pressure on Russia and in maintaining steadfast support for #Ukraine. @AussenMinDE

🇩🇪 🇱🇹 Lithuania stands in full solidarity with #Germany following Russian hybrid attack in #Leipzig. Russia’s hybrid activities in and against Europe are intensifying, but its efforts to destabilise and intimidate us will not succeed. Any attack against one of us will meet a firm and united response.

I am in close touch with @bundeskanzler Friedrich Merz. I have assured him that Lithuania stands in full solidarity with its strategic partner Germany after the Russian hybrid attack in Leipzig. The strong measures taken by the German government show: Hybrid action against any one of us will be met with a clear response. Anyone who attacks us will pay a price. Our commitment to supporting Ukraine in its defense against Russia’s aggression is unshakeable. We will continue our support for as long as it takes to achieve a just and lasting peace.

Another concrete step at #URC2026: Lithuania and Ukraine signed a declaration to expand municipal partnerships. Lithuania allocates €1M to help Ukrainian municipalities plan recovery, maintain vital public services and manage international support effectively. 🇺🇦
🇱🇹🇺🇦 Ukraine’s recovery starts in its municipalities – the frontline of resilience. Today in Gdańsk, at the #URC2026 we launched a new #Lithuania–#Ukraine Municipal Partnerships Programme, backed by an initial €1M, to help 🇺🇦 communities rebuild faster, stronger and with a clear path to the #EU🇪🇺 Local authorities keep services running under bullets and fire. They plan reconstruction while defending their people. Helping them is helping Ukraine defend itself and survive. It is a strategic investment in Ukraine’s victory, European security and the rules based order.

At #URC2026, Lithuania, Sweden and Estonia launched the first contributions to the Ukraine Transport Support Fund. Lithuania contributes €1M to help finance urgent transport and logistics projects that strengthen Ukraine’s resilience, mobility and economic recovery. 🇺🇦
🇱🇹🇸🇪🇪🇪🇺🇦 Today at the #URC2026 in Gdańsk, together with Sweden and Estonia we launched the initial contributions to the Ukraine Transport Support Fund – a concrete project built on real delivery capacity. #Ukraine’s recovery cannot wait for the last shot to be fired. If energy systems fail, if transport collapses, if people cannot return home, resilience erodes long before the war ends. Transport is the engine of Ukraine’s recovery. When roads, rail, border crossings and digital logistics function, the country moves. When they don’t, recovery stalls. Rebuilding these systems is more than infrastructure – it is a commitment to democracy, resilience and the rules based order. Helping Ukraine stay connected means helping Ukraine stay strong. Lithuania is committed – and we invite others to step forward with us.

At #URC26 in Gdańsk, I emphasized that Ukraine’s recovery is an opportunity for democracies to prove that their creative power is stronger than the destructive force of aggressors. Lithuania has committed to allocate at least 0.25% of GDP annually to military assistance for Ukraine and is already exceeding that pledge. I call on all partners to match this benchmark – support Ukraine’s defense, invest in its recovery, and help bring Ukraine into the EU. Ukraine’s victory, recovery, and accession will determine Europe’s future.
