I think The Wire is more prescient than ever. It holds up (IMO) better than Mad Men and I say that as someone who loved Mad Men and literally worked in the building Mad Men was based on for 15 years (Time and Life Building).

You must have watched a different version of The Wire than I did. Literally everything The Wire tackled was prescient — political corruption, the annihilation of the working class, the shameful public education system, cyclical poverty, etc. You like what you like but this is a confusing take.
