When I ask another founder how things are going, I donโ€™t want to dwell on whatโ€™s going right. Weโ€™re problem solvers, letโ€™s discuss whatโ€™s going wrong. Perhaps we are sitting on each otherโ€™s breakthroughs.

I donโ€™t mind people vibe coding stuff, but just get it checked out by a professional if it handles customer data. Ideally before making accessible.

I donโ€™t think people are giving enough credit to @github. Have you seen how many people brag about pushing dozens of PRs per day lately? People who never coded before.

Introducing Microsoft-Decision-1, our new model for fast decision-making. It delivers top performance on structured decision tasks, outperforming both LLMs and other decision models in latency and quality. Weโ€™re already testing it across Microsoft for everything from incident response and quality control to scientific discovery.

Sometimes we use our peersโ€™ progress as a yardstick for where we should be. We seldom look back at where we came from relative to where we are. At times I look around the room and get one of those: โ€œHow the hell did I make it here?โ€ moments. You are here, be grateful, kip going

At my early job, my senior sent me :(){:|:&};: to run on my terminal to make a point that Iโ€™d become too dependent. I had defaulted to just asking him for the right Linux commands to use instead of doing my own research. So, a couple of suspicious reboots later, it clicked ๐Ÿ˜‚

Okay Iโ€™m not smart enough to understand what this means. I get the million suns mass part, but what is the edge of space and time? Edge of the observable universe?

Claude has discovered a previously unknown enzyme system hidden in the DNA of bacteriophages. Beside the enzymeโ€™s gene sits a long array of repeating DNAโ€”a structure that looks somewhat similar to CRISPR. We donโ€™t yet understand what this system does, but only a handful of known systems share its features, and all of them are able to cut, copy, and paste DNA. Historically, the discovery of such programmable systems has helped revolutionize medicine. CRISPR, for instance, is now the foundation of genetic medicines. But it will take much more work to learn what this system does, and whether it can be put to similar use. Read more: anthropic.com/news/claude-diโ€ฆ

Why do people insist on comparing @typesafeai Jev with LLMs? Jev is a classifier with no reasoning capacity. Did I miss something?
Local Laya moggs Jev at @grok 4.7-built Tetris ๐Ÿงฉ An open-weights System One model called Laya, beat cloud-based Jev at playing Tetris by making decisions 11 times faster, running locally on a 16GB MacBook Air! Run AI models locally -> atomic.chat

Found a new trade for when AI takes my job. Havenโ€™t done this in 20 years. Such a relaxing task. Gotta find more shoes to mend while Claude does what I used to love ๐Ÿงถ๐Ÿชก๐Ÿ‘ž

First time ever pumping my own fuel, and washing my own windshield at the garage. We are spoiled in #SouthAfrica. You just pull in, and someone takes care of everything, mostly with some friendly banter, at no additional expense.
