One resident posted watching a C-130 fly laps over the town dropping flares, with at least two parachutes coming down. They described it as surreal and speculated the parachutes could be relief staff, critical medical personnel, or CAF doctors. They said they fear many troops lost. Other citizen and medical accounts describe local facilities overwhelmed, patients filling hallways and a school, and a code orange going out early. Edmonton’s Royal Alexandra and University of Alberta hospitals remain under code orange.
