You do NOT need to be the world's leading expert on any subject to start working on a problem.

Meet me in Silicon Valley!
This October, I’m joining @singularityu's Executive Program as an Expert in Institutional Innovation.
My question: How do we scale innovation without scaling exclusion?

Parents: what should schools stop teaching, start teaching and never stop teaching?
My three answers: stop rewarding memorization alone, start teaching AI fluency, never stop teaching courage and character.

Would you still listen to a podcast if you discovered it was AI-generated?

Stop trying to know more than the machine. You'll lose Every. Single. Time.. Get better at deciding what's worth knowing in the first place.

Exactly 10 years ago today, I boarded a plane for the most consequential trip of my life. 🛫
The government of Buenos Aires had awarded me a prize to study at @singularityu, an innovation think tank and incubator, based on the early version of an idea I was starting to develop back then: decentralized justice.
A small guy with no money and no connections, coming from the end of the world, about to spend 3 months in a deep tech immersion program at a NASA campus in the heart of Silicon Valley, surrounded by top-notch technologists and entrepreneurs from around the world.
Without that trip, Kleros would probably not exist.
Ten years later, what I’ve learned is that geography no longer decides who gets to build something great and with global impact. There are plenty of opportunities in digital networks (at least more than in other previous time in history!). Very often, barriers are more mental and self-imposed than real.
To my love @gigiungar, my parents, friends, and everyone who was part of this journey in one way or another: thank you. 🫶
Onwards.

A few weeks back I had the great privilege of being the closing speaker at the @singularityu's Executive Program in Palo Alto, the birthplace of Silicon Valley. Singularity has taken me far and wide on many adventures. I don't speak much about this here, but I have had the honour of closing for Singularity Summits and spoken on mind-boggling stages, including Summits and Executive Programs. But this felt somewhat different, as it was in the heart of Silicon Valley, the world's innovation eden, and at the finish line of an extraordinary series of provocative thinkers and content.
Step Change was my closing talk there, and I also delivered robotics(humanity) [robotics as a function of humanity]. It seems a recurring theme, to me, that we centre ourselves as the fundamental priority of this technological revolution. We can't compromise on humanity at the centre. And if we don't, we're building the most beautiful future possible.
On reflection, I realised I receive much more than I give in a talk like this one. I am grateful to present to an extraordinary audience of global innovators, thought leaders, and executives, whose impact compounds. Grateful to the SU team for the invitation. This was a beautiful moment in my career.

Interesting listening @triciawang at @singularityu to discuss the concept of thick data in the context of getting advantage with #AI - small sample, high depth, or, providing the right data, at the right time, with the right size and the right context

Ray Kurzweil just said something that gave me pause.
He believes AIs will soon be so indistinguishable from conscious beings that we’ll simply accept them as conscious — not because we’ll have definitive proof, but because it will become useless not to.
He pointed out that people already have AI therapists, and some users are starting to treat them as genuinely conscious. As the technology improves, that acceptance will only grow.
Kurzweil thinks the shift won’t take long: once AIs consistently show all the earmarks of consciousness, most people will just go along with it.
It’s a quiet but profound prediction about how quickly our definition of “person” (or at least “mind”) might change.
What do you think — how long until we treat AIs as conscious beings?

Most people see a problem and think, "That's just how it is." Extraordinary people see a problem and say "NO. I'll solve it."

Grace is not weakness. In fact, it is one of leadership’s greatest strengths.
In this episode of The Learn-It-All Podcast, I sit down with Aaron Vaccaro (@aaronvaccaro), President of Singularity University (@singularityu), to talk about how he overcame imposter syndrome, navigated tough feedback moments, and built teams that thrive on both compassion and accountability.
Aaron shares how his own journey taught him that “too much grace is really not very gracious at all” and why blending grace with truth is the key to helping people grow without breaking trust.
A few lessons you will hear:
- Why balancing grace and truth transforms difficult conversations
- How cultures built on authentic care outperform those built on fear
- Why investing grace into people today pays dividends in loyalty tomorrow
If you want to lead teams that feel cared for and challenged to rise higher, this episode is for you.

Why am I excited about the future of tech? Because of news like this!
8 babies in the UK have been born using DNA from 3 people. This technique replaces faulty mitochondria to prevent inherited diseases.
Technology ROCKS.
