Do you think the way the Seiroku robot fell on Yosuke he thought of the day they met?
#1 Yosuke Mizoe apologist, I love this grieving twink
(I took some liberties and will leave it at that, I’m grieving my doomed Yaoi to okay)
watch sparks of tomorrow, it’s an incredible anime
And Seiroku laughing because he can’t hear the plea because Yosuke is already returning back to his body. “once you two create the age of electricity, we’ll have lots to talk about, so don’t make me wait too long, okay?” Is a beautiful line translt “come back to me someday.” 😔
The “I love you” serves as more of a confession to ease Yosuke’s uncertainty about their relationship because it was never anything confirmed but also as a goodbye. But as he said it Yosuke says “don’t leave me again, please!” He knew it was a goodbye. But he was already pulled
Because that’s the two people he loved more than anyone. The fact they ruinite in paradise says the bond is mutual.
“I wish you’d stay a little longer but you have to finish what we started. With him” A reword of what he said in the original scene but shows he’s lonely.
But to rub salt on the wound changed it to “I miss you both so much, promise me you’ll take care of Kiachi” because he acknowledged Yosuke didn’t have long to be there and he didn’t want them to fight anymore and have this divide.
This is the original scene: and I would say- the love is still there but the scene felt a bit rushed, I wanted something a little deeper so him talking about the two people he loved working together and the memory inside your heart was awful given what has happened.
The scene is played out at least how I pictured it in my head so it made sense to have him relive the night he kissed Seiroku goodbye as a happy memory but also as he was falling because his fall sequence was ‘comedic’ and didn’t like that. this is an anime about exploring grief.
Edit notes part 3: The firework scene is played twice, one of the actual scene and one of the unseen but what is remembered, to me how it was set up it felt like a kiss scene, but it was off screen. Yosuke in his acceptance as he falls and how he is grateful to have known Seiroku
Edit notes part 2: By the end where he is falling, and it has a flashback scene of where he slips and the light burns out, metaphor for his grief, the exhaustion and his whole soul being powered by the thought of bringing even if it is just a piece of Seiroku back.
