The pain people put others through simply because they were loved genuinely and allowed themselves to be vulnerable around them is really scary.
Imagine opening your heart to someone, letting your guard down, trusting them with the parts of you that you hide from the rest of the world, only for them to use that vulnerability to hurt you.
Sometimes, people don't realise that they're not just breaking someone's heart; they're changing the way that person experiences love, trust, and emotional safety.
And the saddest part? The person you become after being hurt like that is sometimes someone you never wanted to be.
It's scary when loving someone teaches you to be afraid of love itself.
