Last week's performance reports for my xplatform/multiplayer/free-to-play: - $0 ad spend - continuous improvement based on user feedback My observations: - Chest opening peak, players seemed to start playing more matches and use sanctuary feature which rewards chests full of characters, hats and skins - Median session time seemed to grow 24% compared to T4W Available on iOS, Android, MacOS and Windows. #BuildInPublic #IndieDev #SoloDev #GameDev

Wild how getting positive interaction on Reddit requires giving away free assets or open-source tools, otherwise you're just fighting for your life in the comments. On X, you can actually just share your game and build in public. Shoutout to the late-night #indiedev/#gamedev crew on here. I’m cooking a new UI for my f2p, xplatform, multiplayer game: Leap of Legends. What are you all working on tonight?

okay a week is over… what did you ship this week? I’m starting to see lots of excuses around. Let’s get your shit together and keep building. I go first: - ranked matches and ELO system for Leap of Legends - pill-sized linux cpp matchmaking and match servers (100-150mb) for faster deployment for Leap of Legends - complete UI/UX overhaul of Leap of Legends leveraging new UI shading features of my open source ui design system at github/unity-ui-toolkit-design-system. - steam overlay integration for seamless wishlist call to action for Geometry TD - crew member ID and face generator for Geometry TD - crew animation polish for Geometry TD - a cinematic trailer for Geometry TD - performance optimizations for over 15k ID carrying/vehicle driving/home owning/job performing citizens in my upcoming city game - first person mode and animations for my upcoming game - from gas stations to sushi restaurants, over a 100 legal job/work stations and animations for my upcoming game - scooter, skateboard, rollerblades, bicycle and motorcycle driving animation fixes for my upcoming game - some uncommited improvements to my open source umg design system for unreal. low level stuff and more icons and icon functionality. it is available at github/unreal-umg-design-system #indiedev #gamedev #solodev #unity #unreal

Finally someone with senses wrote a few words on software. I’m starting to see an increasing volume of excuses. Just build.
I'm old enough to remember when 'C++ slop' was the battle cry of 'real' coders. Then it was 'Unity slop' and 'Unreal slop' from those who thought hand-rolled engines were superior in every way. Now it's AI slop. People draw a line on the abstraction hierarchy below which they are happy to automate the tedium. The line just moved... that's all. Skilled people will still make superior software. We have been inundated with low quality slop since the birth of digital distribution decades ago. It's nothing new.

83 wishlists. Aiming for 8,000. Just dropped a new cinematic trailer — gave the crew faces and real identity. Demo’s updated too. Why wait for Next Fest to end? Check out Geometry TD on Steam. #gamedev #indiedev

In the dawn of the SI age and @Medium still thinks Dark Mode is a groundbreaking feature 💀 Imagine emailing that to millions to promote something in 2026. Meanwhile I’ve spent two full days building gameplay trailers and promos that are 10x more sophisticated… and still wondering if we’re overthinking it. The gap is wild. #SuperIntelligence #AI #IndieDev #GameDev #DarkMode #UIUX #TechTwitter

Steam Next Fest update for my second game: - 700+ demo downloads - 75 wishlists - 14 minutes average playtime (15-min hard stop) Players are staying until the clock runs out. That means the demo is landing. How’s your Next Fest looking? #SteamNextFest #IndieDev #BuildInPublic #GameDev #Unity #SoloDev

Imagine casually pulling over a million people to a tech festival — every single time — in a country of 88 million. Total so far: 13.5 million. @Selcuk and @teknofest aren’t just organizing events. They’re building a generation. And it goes deeper. Beyond the famous armed-drones, he’s also running DENEYAP — a free, 36-month nationwide robotics, coding, and technology program for kids (“Try and Do”). This year alone: 182,800 kids took the first-round tests 49,052 advanced to the hands-on stage ~15,000 got accepted My daughter just made it in. This is the real deal. #TEKNOFEST #DENEYAP
Ülkemizin ve dahi dost ve kardeş coğrafyaların #TEKNOFEST’i… ❤️🚀 Toplam ziyaretçi sayısı: 13.585.000 The #TEKNOFEST of our country and of our friendly and brotherly regions… ❤️🚀 Total number of visitors: 13,585,000

Your Next Fest demo underperformed? Stop guessing. Follow up hard with the people who actually played it. Those few sessions are the most valuable data you have right now. Use analytics with real granularity if you can - feelings lie, numbers less so. The moment you put it in public, it stopped being your private fun project. It’s a business. There’s no shame in treating it like one and actually talking to players. I’ll play 10 indie/solo Next Fest games under this post and give brutally honest feedback. Drop your game. This is a marathon, not a sprint. #gamedev #indiedev #solodev #buildinpublic #steam #indiegames

This guy is highly underappreciated in X. Get your shit together and start following him if you are an #indiedev #gamedev
If you need a random color (e.g. procedurally coloring objects), you should use Oklab or Oklch color space instead of RGB or HSV. RGB may span the whole spectrum, but it does not pick fairly (leaning dark/muddy). Oklab is designed to more closely map to how we perceive color
