Growing up in Texas, people often saw our turbans and called us "terrorist." It got worse after 9/11. I promised myself then that I'd do what I could to help introduce the world to Sikhs. Today, decades later, I'm thrilled to share my new book. penguinrandomhouse.com/books…

It was an honor to help set the stage for @simran at today’s Sikh Coalition virtual conference! I appreciated the opportunity to explore lived religion, identity, and pluralism with educators in my keynote before settling in to learn from him with my copy of Modeling Religious Pluralism in hand. Grateful to the @sikh_coalition for bringing us together to consider how people’s stories can deepen understanding and enrich our classrooms. #ReligiousLiteracy #SikhCoalition #GlobalCompetence

The US Department of Homeland Security just posted this on its official account. It's a racist and hateful message targeting Sikh Americans. And it's going to make all of us less safe.

I’m outraged that our government is calling on us to turn on one another; that our government is using its resources—our tax dollars—to foment hate; that the first people targeted by bigots are those who already live with the most precarity in our society. simranjeetsingh.substack.com…

Twenty-five years after 9/11, Sikhs are *still* being targeted and profiled for how we look. Millions of Sikhs in the United States have the last name Singh, which means lion. We remain fearless in identifying as Sikhs—even when our government portrays us as enemies.

In 2019, I interviewed @AbdulElSayed. We talked faith, family, politics, and more. Today, he’s running for the US Senate to represent Michigan. He stands by the same values today as he did then. Listen here: podcasts.apple.com/us/podcas…

I’m a Sikh Spurs fan. I grew up in San Antonio and have lived in NYC for almost 20 years. I love seeing New Yorkers come together around a miraculous run. Games 2 and 4 crushed my soul. But I still have faith. religionnews.com/2026/06/12/…

To all Sikh New Yorkers: Happy Khalsa Sajna Diwas and Vaisakhi! This joyous holiday commemorates the founding of the Khalsa by Guru Gobind Singh ji, a defining moment that established the Sikh identity and its call to serve humanity selflessly, protect the religious rights of all, and stand against political oppression, tyranny, & discrimination. May we all carry forward the spirit of Vaisakhi as we work together to build a city rooted in freedom and belonging for all.
