Tonight's rock'n'roll washing up soundtracked by The Action. Turns out Willow loves dancing to it, which is fine by me.
We then listened to some Rip, Rig and Panic which she described as 'getting stuff done music'. She's very wise.

Always a treat to find a Vaughan Oliver sleeve design (and indeed a 4AD release) in the charity shop!
Joe Harriott & Amancio D'Silva Quartet, ‘Hum Dono’, reissue on Trunk. Glorious artwork. Can’t back the “best British jazz record of all time” claim as I haven’t heard them all, but it’s good stuff. Lounge/groove-ish exploratory jazz with vocals à la Swingle Singers or Clare Torry
I won a copy of 2000AD prog 23, from 1977! I didn’t start reading it until maybe seven years after this, but I’m instantly transported back to a weekly obsessive read and a developing sense of appreciation of good art and good stories. Zarjaz!
Legss ‘Fester’ 12”, out last month on The State51 Conspiracy. Heavy, dystopian indie rock, the musical counterpart to David Thewlis’ ranting monologues in ‘Naked’. There’s an almost shockingly intense section in “The Landlord”. Special edition with a USB drive and more!
I vote for a return to all lower case, oddly spaced typography in road signage. It’ll give everything more of a mid-20th century modernism feel. Also, somebody should clean this sign.
