Today I let my class throw water balloons at me. Safe to say they enjoyed it far more than I did! Lots of laughs, plenty of shade, lots of water and a very soggy teacher by the end. Worth every splash! 😄 #PrimaryTeacher

Plushie Yourself! 🧸
This is so easy and looks just like the photo you upload.
Upload a picture into ChatGPT andtype: “Make my picture into a plushie” and hey presto, a few moments later you get one of these! I think mine looks like a character from Up!

Make 37 ChristMaths. Brilliant maths task that really gets children thinking. Choose numbers from 1s, 3s, 5s and 7s. Pick exactly 10 and try to total 37. I made a Christmas-themed image to explain the task, based on the NRICH make 37, Link below 👇

Say the Word on the Beat Challenge! 🎶🗣️
Looks easy… it really is not 😅
Started individually, then as a whole class. It quickly gets harder and turns into a proper tongue twister. Brilliant for focus, listening, and lots of laughs.

Bad dad joke incoming 🎄🤒
What do you call a number that’s ill at Christmas?
Sick seven! 😅
I know everyone’s probably sick and tired of hearing about the number 67… but I say embrace it, get it out of the system- sometimes you’ve just got to lean into the silliness 🎅🎄
The Grinch Brain Break Party was a hit today 🎄💚
A quick burst of freeze dance, chase games and jump battles kept everyone smiling and moving while the storm raged outside 🌧️✨

In my class today we tried the Imperative Verb Song and it was an instant earworm. Smiles all round and a brilliant way to understand imperative verbs.Simple, catchy and it really works 🎶✨

I absolutely love December and all the Christmas joy it brings 🎄 This morning I got my classroom looking festive and magical so the children could start the first of December with a big smile on their faces 😊
🔨 Hammer time with Hammertime from Bits and Bops. The children matched the nail and hammer patterns with claps, then taps on the table. Great for rhythm, timing, focus and coordination before our lesson. Link below if you want to try it. 🎶bit.ly/4rmRHPz
A real pinch me moment in Trondheim. I flew here with @Kahoot to share what we do at Tottington Primary and speak at Nye Hjorten theatre. Amazing to meet teachers from across Europe and see how we all work to inspire young learners. Loved sharing photos with my class back home.

We have had a fabulous afternoon meeting author @simonjameshunt! He led assemblies with all year groups, read his books to KS1 and engaged in an exciting Q&A session with KS2. He also signed copies of his books for some of our students.
Thank you for visiting & inspiring us!
76. Every. Single. Time.
Saying 'six' and 'seven' in maths class has become a high-stakes game. Now my children are all chanting '67' with the arm motion.
The things you learn as a teacher!

Air/Cone Hockey! Each child has a goal, and the aim is to slide the cone into your opponent's net. You have to be on all fours, stay behind your own goal line, and you can block shots with your hands.
Positive Potato! Tomorrow is the first day back with the children, I can’t wait to see them all! This year, I’m going to give the Positive Potato someone each day.
The potato will stay with them for the next day as a gentle reminder to spread kindness.
