BREAKING: Republicans have a nuclear meltdown after the Philadelphia Eagles reportedly give a "massive no" to an invite from Donald Trump to visit the White House after their resounding Super Bowl victory.
This is just too perfect...
"SAME. GO F YOURSELVES EAGLES. My husband is a fan so I got onboard but F this BS," said MAGA commentator Megyn Kelly in response to another Trump supporter whining about the snub.
"The Philadelphia Eagles decline to visit the White House. Wish I had known this before the super bowl. I wouldn't have wasted my time rooting for them. Eagles fan? Your team sucks 😎📷👍" wrote "Toxic Cowboy," the pro-MAGA account that Kelly was replying to.
The rage was widespread...
"The Philadelphia Eagles have rejected Trump’s invitation to the White House. You know what, I will never support that team again. F*ck the Eagles," whined MAGA account "Kentucky Girl" to her 22.6 k followers.
According to one of her older posts, she "supported" the Eagles to win the game because she hates Taylor Swift for opposing Trump — and Swift is dating a player on the Chiefs. This is what passes for politics on the right. It's all banal, brainless culture war issues.
"President Trump should invite the Chiefs to the White House," right-wing commentator Michael Knowles wrote on X.
Someone should tell Knowles that the Chiefs lost and losing teams don't get invites. The final score was 40 to 22, a blowout victory for the Eagles.
It's also worth noting that Trump himself predicted that the Chiefs would win.
Megyn Kelly later followed up with another post writing: "Update: WH denies that Eagles were asked and this news is from a 2/6 The Sun report about Eagles’ alleged plans if asked. Could be (hopefully?) fake news!"
Of course, this White House is full of pathological liars. It would be in perfect keeping with their established behavior to deny sending the invite in an attempt to save face.
Kelly also apparently failed to notice that The Sun article in question was published on February 6th but updated on February 9th — the day of the Super Bowl.
In that article, the publication reported that "recent discussions" between the players and Eagles front office resulted in a "massive no" about accepting an invitation to the Trump White House.
This is an especially embarrassing incident for Trump, who tried for years to purchase an NFL team.
Jeffrey Lurie, the owner of the Eagles, donated to Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama in the past and reportedly "disparaged" Trump in a meeting with other NFL owners.
In other words, the Eagles will almost certainly not be visiting our fascist president.

BREAKING NEWS:
Republican Senator Jerry Moran of Kansas has split with his party to admonish the reckless and illegal shutdown on USAID:
Moran says the aggressive change at the USAID office shut down left $340 million in lifesaving food grown in the United States sitting at domestic ports, waiting to be delivered to various destinations where people are STARVING.
"Time is running out before this lifesaving aid perishes," Moran said. "Food stability is essential to political stability, and our food aid programs help feed the hungry, bolster our national security and provide an important market for our farmers, especially when commodity prices are low."
This is not a democratic vs. republican issue. This is a humanitarian issue!
Thank you Senator Moran for speaking out!

Donald Trump is making a deliberate attempt to overwhelm the system, and to overwhelm you. It can be difficult to keep up. And that’s by design.
But we can keep up – and respond. Here’s what he’s doing, and what it means for you. Just the facts. 🧵⤵️

BREAKING: Democratic State Senator Bradford Blackmon of Mississippi introduces a bill called the "Contraception Begins at Erection Act" to brilliantly troll Republican anti-abortion laws that claim life begins at conception.
This has Republicans seething with rage and it gets even better...
Drawing sharp attention to the absurdity of so-called "pro-life" laws, the bill would make it illegal for men to "discharge genetic material without the intent to fertilize an embryo."
The dehumanizing, controlling language perfectly mirrors the rhetoric that Republicans use when discussing women's bodies and the right to choose.
It goes a step further and parodies the "exceptions" that conservatives sometimes carve out in anti-abortion laws by stating that it will still be legal to donate sperm and use contraception to prevent impregnation.
Violators would be hit with $1,000 the first time, $5,000 the second, and $10,000 for all subsequent violations.
The bill, of course, will not pass in the Republican-controlled Legislature and Blackmon does not intend for it to.
"All across the country, especially here in Mississippi, the vast majority of bills relating to contraception and/or abortion focus on the woman’s role when men are fifty percent of the equation," Blackmon wrote to NBC affiliate WLBT of Jackson.
"This bill highlights that fact and brings the man’s role into the conversation. People can get up in arms and call it absurd but I can’t say that bothers me," he added.

I've been seeing a lot of people on the left and right talking about the 2024 election as if it was a landslide.
So I made this chart to put things in context.
Trump's win was one of the smallest in modern history.

The far right wants us to feel powerless. Extremists are counting on apathy, cynicism, & heartbreak to be their rocket fuel. They are counting on us to point fingers at each other & lose trust in our ability to make change.
I absolutely refuse to give them the satisfaction.

Well, I guess the consequences of this election are already being felt.
A story about Trump voters in Pennsylvania. The owner of a large company called a meeting for all his employees. He informed them that they won't be getting their Christmas bonuses this year. He explained that the company has to buy a year's worth of product before the Trump's tariffs hit in January.
They said they thought the tariffs were paid by the foreign companies. He then explained to his employees that the tariffs are paid by the American companies who import these foreign goods.
Sometimes, you get exactly what you vote for.
