Another great day yesterday @TxFlow_L1 . Points week one dropped and our vaults went live. I’ve also hit another personal goal of over $10M volume from my affiliate’s and their referees. Over $13M yesterday between them. No stopping this train, I’m just getting started.

A lot of teams say they’re community driven, then nothing actually changes. Here, you give feedback and they move. Still early and there’s loads to build, but I’m very happy I made the move. First day at @TxFlow_L1 today, so figured I’d explain a bit more about why I chose this one. After Dango I knew I wanted to stay around onchain trading. I spoke to a few really good teams over the last few weeks, but every conversation I had with Harry and the rest of the team made me more bullish on TxFlow. The DEX was obviously what caught my attention first. Own L1, onchain order book, real volume already going through it. It’s very close to the world I’ve spent the last 18+ months working in, so a lot of it felt familiar straight away. What sold me though was that the ambition is much bigger than just building another perp DEX. Perps are obviously a huge part of it, but there’s also spot, prediction markets and a wider L1 being built specifically around financial products. That’s a much more interesting thing to help grow than another trading frontend. The founders were another big part of it. We had some pretty long calls before I joined and were on the same page about a surprising amount, even down to how DeFi UX should actually feel. Good products shouldn’t make users understand everything happening under the hood just to make a trade. My job from here is pretty simple, help get a lot more people using TxFlow. Traders, affiliates, communities, partnerships, regional growth, whatever makes sense. I’ve got a lot I want to bring over from what worked at Dango, and probably just as importantly, a lot I’d do differently this time. Points are starting soon too, so the timing is pretty ideal. I want to help get TxFlow to the point where if someone asks what perp DEX they should be trading on, it’s one of the first names that comes up. Anyway, day one. Time to get to work.

Well, it’s official. I’ve joined @TxFlow_L1. After Dango I knew I wanted to stay around onchain trading rather than just take a random crypto role, and the more I spoke with @Harry_TxFlow and the rest of the team the more obvious the fit became. They’re building their own L1 specifically for onchain finance (just like we were building at dango), with perps, spot and prediction markets already running on the same stack. The DEX is already doing $2B+ a month in perp volume, so we’re definitely not starting from zero. I’m joining to help grow that from here. Traders, affiliates, communities, partnerships, whatever gets more real users and volume through the product. I want TxFlow to become one of the first venues people think of when they think about trading perps onchain. Timing couldn’t be much better either. Points Season 1 is about to start. Spent the last couple of weeks getting to know Harry and the team and they’re seriously dialled in. Very bullish on what we can build here. Landing a job in crypto: Day 19 Funny one yesterday. One of the KOLs I originally onboarded at Dango is building his own app now. We jumped on a call to catch up and talk through what he’s working on, and by the end of it he’d offered me the BD role 😂 Pretty mad considering I was the one bringing him into Dango in the first place. I’m already very far along with another team that I’m genuinely excited about, so I’m not suddenly back out hunting again. Just thought it was a cool example of how small this space is. Someone you work with today can end up building something themselves a year later and asking you to come help.

Landing a job in crypto: Day 18 While I’m waiting for the final details on the role I’ve been talking about, one thing I’ve noticed during this whole process is how weird compensation in crypto can be. I saw a role recently on CT looking for one person to handle GTM, BD and community. Salary: $1,500 a month. That’s the part I don’t really understand. BD can be a six figure job on its own. So can growth/GTM. Community might be a different salary band depending on the role, but expecting one person to properly own all three for $18k a year is mad. And I think crypto has created this strange misconception that because the industry is global, people should just accept whatever number gets thrown at them. There’s obviously huge variation depending on stage, funding, geography and experience. Not every startup can pay US tech salaries. But there’s a difference between being an early team with limited resources and designing a role that would normally be three jobs, then trying to fill it for the cheapest possible price. If you’re good at BD, growth, marketing, community, product, whatever it is, don’t assume low pay is just “how crypto works” because you’ve seen other people accept it. There are teams paying properly for good people. Know what your work is worth.
