I analysed 6 months of AI citation data across search engines.
Here's what AI actually cites before answering your customers:
• Editorial publishers
• Amazon / Flipkart / Justdial
• Wikipedia
• YouTube
SEO built pages. AI Search builds answers.
Most brands are optimising for the wrong layer.
And most brands are still optimising for the wrong layer.

Why is Virat called King Kohli?
15,000+ international ODI runs at an average of almost 60.
No one in the top 25 is even near that average.
I think AI traffic may become one of the most misleading marketing metrics of this cycle.
Imagine this journey:
Customer asks ChatGPT what to buy.
ChatGPT introduces three brands.
Customer compares them.
AI eliminates one.
Customer decides on another.
Two days later they Google the winning brand and buy.
Analytics says: Organic Search converted, technically true.
Strategically incomplete.
The harder problem in AI Search is not measuring where the click came from.
It is measuring where the decision changed.
ChatGPT ads are already moving past generic sponsored links.
OpenAI is now testing ads that open a branded AI conversation instead of a website.
CPC will now be cost per conversation instead of click.
Brands need to optimize not just landing pages but how well AI knows them
A $1.8B valuation for an AI search visibility company is not just a funding story.
It is category validation.
For years, brands spent heavily understanding where they ranked on Google.
Now the same question is expanding:
Where does my brand show up when someone asks ChatGPT or AI Mode what to buy?
And more importantly, why?
AI visibility is quickly moving from an experimental marketing metric to infrastructure.
We have been betting on this shift while building DareAISearch.
Still very early.
First Apple Event in over a decade without Good Morning from Tim Cook
I’ve personally been spending a lot of my time across two areas at DareAISearch:
The intelligence behind what we’re building, and the product that turns that intelligence into something scalable.
Early on, that’s just part of being a founder. You wear multiple hats and stay very close to everything.
But reaching a point where both of these areas now need their own leaders feels like a small but meaningful milestone.
Over the last month, we’ve made two senior hires, one to go much deeper on intelligence/search and another to lead engineering.
I’ll obviously continue to be deeply involved in both, but it feels good to have people who can now own these areas and take them much further than I could while splitting my time across everything else.
Feels like DareAISearch is entering a very different phase now.
Excited about the next few months.
How many of you actually use Perplexity? (Paid Plan)
Perplexity's annualized revenue has climbed to more than $750 million 🤯
The best customer calls don’t end with “your product is great.”
They end with:
“How can we do more together?”
That’s when you know you’ve moved from being a vendor to becoming a strategic partner.
Google just introduced Search Console support for Instagram, TikTok, X and YouTube.
Big signal for the future of search.
Search is no longer only about websites.
Videos, social posts, communities, publishers and AI answers are now part of the customer decision journey.
What many called “social media” is becoming measurable search infrastructure.
Hot take that's not very hot anymore:
GEO is not SEO 2.0.
They share 30% of the toolkit and 0% of the goal.
SEO won you a click.
GEO wins you a citation.
A citation is not a click with a different name. It's a different unit of attention entirely.

Over the past few months, I’ve spent a lot of time on DareAISearch demos.
Brands that are punctual or at least communicate when they’ll be late tend to be the ones that execute better overall.
Small habits often reveal bigger operational strengths.
Two brands. Same category. Same budget.
Brand A: 87% AI visibility
Brand B: 4%
Brand B has the more beautiful website.
Beautiful ≠ discoverable.
Discoverable ≠ recommended.
Recommended by AI is the new shelf space.

Let's talk.

GEO has 3 layers. Most teams only work on layer 1.
Layer 1: Your own site. Schema, FAQs, Blogs, comparison pages.
Layer 2: Third-party. Reviews, listicles, expert articles.
Layer 3: Community. Reddit, Quora, niche forums, YouTube
Layer 1 is necessary.
Layer 2 is what gets you cited.
Layer 3 is what makes you defensible.

At 18, I thought audience was the goal.
By 21: Brand deals. Tech Collabs. Money in college.
By 30: I know the truth.
An audience without a product is a mood.
I was the product. The moment I stopped, it evaporated.
Audience compounds only when something is built behind it.
And that's what I'm doing today with @dareaisearch ..

Benchmarked 30 Indian SaaS brands vs global rivals.
Global: 84% AI visibility.
Indian: 6%.
Same product quality. Same price band.
The gap isn't product. It's:
→ English third-party content
→ Founder writing publicly
→ Reddit/HN presence
Indian SaaS founders treat the open web as a place to lurk. Global ones treat it as distribution.
Fix it before you get replaced!

Same AI. Same question. Asked 3 weeks apart.
3 weeks ago: my brand was in the answer.
Today: it's not.
The answers drift. The models update. The 'winners' rotate.
You're not optimising for a static index anymore. You're showing up to a live conversation.
