digger is political satire in its richest, most vivid form. if you are tired of half baked remakes, sequels, and reboots I urge you to go watch this movie, vote with your wallet, and let studios know that we would love to see more original and creative concepts.
'Digger' Digs a Grave Hollywood is Happy to Fill. New musings on the future of original cinema are now available on loreobsessed.com/blog
We congratulate Levent Alpöge and Tristan Buckmaster on their remarkable mathematical work.
We (the researchers and the agents) did not see any of their work through any means until they released it publicly — in particular, no specific user data was accessed in order to solve this problem.
While unlikely, we cannot rule out that de-identified data derived from their usage of our products helped improve our models.
However, our proofs differ significantly and even the precise results proved are different in the Euler case (forced vs. unforced).
We’re sharing a solution to the Navier-Stokes Millennium Prize Problem, one of the deepest problems at the frontier of mathematics.
The proof was produced by a group of agents, using an OpenAI next-generation model significantly more capable than GPT-6 Astra.
The problem concerns whether the description of smooth three-dimensional fluid motion modeled by the Navier-Stokes equations can break down. It has remained unresolved for roughly 90 years.
this post might be bait but I think a lot of people don't understand there is a skill curve to traveling. A few tips that have gone exceptionally far for me
- having a high tolerance for discomfort (big for saving money)
- learning as much of the local language possible, and not being afraid to speak it poorly
- not packing my itinerary with zero room for exploration/discovery
- becoming friends with locals in a polite and not overbearing way
i also think if you take a trip solo you will become better at all of these very rapidly
modern travel is increasingly flying 10 hours to experience a slightly different version of the same globally optimized lifestyle.
same third wave coffee. same natural wine bar. same brutalist menu. same sourdough. same beige hotel. same tasteful ceramics. same instagram lighting.
what a ridiculous convergence.
not sure how i feel about the coachellafication of the us open
feel like it’s a good thing to bring a bigger audience to tennis (and also more money to USTA), but feels like its become really distracting from the actual tennis

🚨 GAME CHANGER
In April, we launched a NEW CAMPAIGN to recruit video gamers as air traffic controllers — and supercharged the entire hiring process to get the BEST & BRIGHTEST in faster. The results are HISTORIC ✈️
✅ 94% of hiring goal met — fastest time ever to reach target
✅ 2,000+ hired — the most in a single year
✅ 2,000+ “best & brightest” candidates in the pipeline — reaching the Academy quicker than any class before them, thanks to the most streamlined hiring process
We’re building the strongest, sharpest workforce in aviation history ✈️
very true for tennis. if u don’t have it mentally all of your training can go out the window. can attribute all of my career wins to mental toughness, which was a direct result of competing on the junior tennis circuit.
- every match affects your rating (playing bad sets you back)
- little outside help during a match that can last sometimes up to 3 hours
- no one to blame when losing or carry you out of a bad performance
- score based (can’t win by running out the clock, you have to close the opponent out)
-always better players to play against, if you keep winning there are no restrictions on how high level of a tournament you can play
If you don’t want your kid to be soft, put them in tennis. competitive tennis will teach them how to deal with losing like no other sport. no amount of money, effort, natural talent, or athleticism can take you all the way if you aren’t mentally strong enough.
Notice how they gravitate towards endurance sports that basically only require grind/discipline (marathons, cycling, lifting, Ironmans) vs skill-based ones (golf, tennis, sailing, etc)
They want a clean effort → outcome relationship. If you train consistently, your 10k time, deadlift or HYROX time will usually improve linearly.
Golf and tennis are much more psychologically tough. You can practise for years and suddenly play worse. Progress is nonlinear, technique-sensitive, and often exposed directly against another person. You can’t simply brute-force your way into feeling competent.
Same for the modern high-agency / ambitious professionals looking for achievement outside work. As their careers become increasingly nonlinear and probabilistic (working twice as hard won’t guarantee you the promotion, building twice as good a product won’t guarantee anyone buys it), they increasingly pick sports where progress is linear-ish, quantifiable and attributable to effort. Basically the meritocracy they thought their career would be.
echoing this last paragraph heavy
movies should not be catered towards one palate. consumer entitlement has gone quite far in recent years and I hope it does not squeeze the diversity out of cinema
some of the biggest winners of this world cup were all the ai video video gen startups. every video of the ai world cup anime with dictator mbappe, viking haaland and the rest were doing hundreds of thousands of views per video

i compiled 300+ internet artifacts and turned them into collectible cards. go collect them all @loreobsessed
need uber and lyft to get on this, rideshare doesn't need a UI
imagine hosting a pregame and telling @tomo or @interaction, i need to get 10 people from x to y and we want to leave by 10:30, and the agent books the cars, texts u when to get ready, and go outside
cant speak for other majors, but in at least in cs and finance, min maxing classes was the norm. On the finance side, good students would have their IB offers by sophomore spring, and would subsequently stop gaf about anything academic. instead they would frequently travel and socialize pretty much as much as possible. Part of it is they know what type of grind they are getting themselves into, but i think they need to rapidly become more interesting (helps to move up the finance ladder)
CS felt a bit different because I think that it was clear that just doing well in classes wasn't going to get us our first swe job. Many of us spent countless hours on building projects, going to hackathons, prepping leetcode etc but there were so many things outside of class that were moving the needle.
in either circumstance the time spent grinding for classes is pretty much the least useful thing you can do and you are simply putting yourself behind both socially and professionally
wow feels kinda illegal that this runs this smooth in a browser. congrats to everyone who worked on this, feels like a really big step for WMs
Introducing MIRA.
A playable, multiplayer world model.
A dream of Rocket League.
Trained on 10k hours of data collected with publicly available bots, MIRA learns the dynamics of a four-player game. The model runs in real time at 20 fps, based on the keys you and the other players press.
Built by General Intuition and @kyutai_labs, in collaboration with Epic Games. Not used to develop Rocket League.
▶️ Play the demo, read the technical report, and explore the open-source code at generalintuition.com/mira

early interfaces had such a strong sense of place
people don’t miss vista or the ps3 because they were fast or convenient. they miss when every animation, loading screens, sound, etc. all contributed to a rich and immersive world.
the nba is so lucky lebron moves like an anime protaganist
🚨 San Antonio Spurs are no longer expected to pursue LeBron after signing Tobias Harris, per @TheSteinLine
The sweepstakes for The King is down to 28 teams 👑
obv big if true, but man the vibes around OpenAI feel completely different from a year ago. last summer felt like everyone was coming for their lunch. meta poaching researchers, claude code blowing up, etc.
now it feels like they found another gear and started shipping from every direction
