Sorry @LidlGB - but “prevented ocean plastic” being made into yet more plastic water bottles; used once and then trashed; is not in any way circular. Please have these bottles scientifically tested for chemicals that are known to be harmful. ethicalmarketingnews.com/lid…

Yet again France leads the way on exposing truth on #plastictoxins. Good article here on the disproportionate impact on women - however the science on men’s fertility reduction is very well researched. And of course the people working on OUR dumps 🤯 vogue.fr/beauty-tips/article…
A radical thought. Let’s have “World Stop The BS Plastic Recycling Day”. Here’s why. linkedin.com/posts/sian-suth…

…. can’t wait to see who brings this
to the US and raises $10M for it 😂
And so it began. The pension schemes finally backing those who use existing laws to call fossil fuel directors to account.

Not uplifting but important viewing for all.

More forensics from @WasteCounter showing us where our carefully ‘recycled’ plastic waste actually ends up. German citizens believe their country is exemplary at recycling. Unfortunately collection from your diligently separated home bins does NOT mean diligent home recycling 🤨
👀Look at explosion of plastic waste exports from Germany to Asia Nov 2022
Reports show German mechanical recyclers shutting down due to high energy costs, so they're flooding Asia to get rid of their #plasticpollution waste

The US has blocked and delayed climate action in part because oil markets underpin the dollar as a reserve currency. Transitioning away from fossil fuels will weaken US hegemony. They are apparently willing to harm the whole world to preserve it.
Very insightful read. Check it out if you believe the current economic model is the only way forward.
I'm happy to announce we have this new article in Nature, discussing policies and challenges for a just transition. "Degrowth can work - here's how science can help": nature.com/articles/d41586-0…

"#Plastics is choking the planet. This is not just a pollution & toxics crisis, but very much an oil & gas crisis. We cannot fight the climate crisis without getting off of fossil fuels & we cannot get off fossil fuels without reducing plastics production," CIEL's @NikkiReisch.
Great chat with @michaelhayman . A little less conversation, a little more action now - if you please. Or actually, even if you don’t.

If only all governments were this brave. This is why ordinary people vote. We deserve better.
Paris is working to become a '15-minute city' where everything you need is located locally within 15 mins. Every street will have a bike lane, 60,000 parking spots are being removed & replaced with parks. They aren't done yet.
We have the solutions implement them.
