What's better than a day at Rocket Park? Astronauts stopping by. πŸš€ We were thrilled to welcome @NASAArtemis III Astronauts Randy Bresnik (@AstroKomrade) and Frank Rubio to Rocket Park this week! These incredible astronauts represent the future of lunar exploration, and we're excited to support the Artemis III mission with our Blue Moon MK2 Earth Orbit Rendezvous demonstration vehicle.

Never Bet Against Elon... The day Apollo legends got SpaceX dead wrong. In 2011, Neil Armstrong and Gene Cernan testified before Congress, warning that private spaceflight was an unreliable dream and claiming startups like SpaceX "didn't know what they didn't know." Fast forward to today: SpaceX didn't just prove the skeptics wrongβ€”they revolutionized rocketry, restored American human spaceflight, and were chosen by NASA to build the lander returning humans to the Moon. Even the greatest pioneers can misjudge the future.

🫧 @Astro_Jessica and I have a spacewalk coming up early August.Β  We are preparing this week with the @NASA EVA team.Β  Step one – get the suit ready.Β  We are filling and testing the water bags.Β  After filling it with water, there are air bubbles, but they are not at the top, and the only way to get them out – and get more water in – is to spin them (centrifuge) and then squeeze the air out.Β  This was my very first attempt at this.Β  Mission accomplished!

Curiosity has delivered a new 360-degree panorama from Mars. β€œWe’ve seen a lot of fascinating landscapes through Curiosity’s eyes, but this sea of polygons took our breath away,” said the mission’s project scientist. 1/2

Gummy bears are a popular choice to demonstrate surface tension in space. The bright, familiar candy makes science demonstrations fun and it's a simple way to show how fluids behave differently in space. These simple demos help us understand capillary forces and fluid dynamics crucial for spacecraft design, life support systems, and even research that benefits Earth.

Coming to @SpaceX @StarbaseTX for Flight 12? Well, there are new public access restrictions you need to be aware of that have recently been put into place. All of the area behind (south) of the launch site, including the mud flats and most of the sand dunes are now off limits, which is a big departure from what we have been used to for the previous 11 Flights and before that too. There are new signs and roped off areas, part of both the expansion and construction at the launch site and a wildlife/bird refuge that extends throughout this area. Also, some new restrictions as to where you can park and observe ship and booster rollout operations. The most important thing to keep in mind is follow the instructions you are given by the county Sherrif and the City of Starbase security personnel and do not cross into private or protected areas. Starbase is a very special place that is unlike any other in the world, but over time, there will be more and more restrictions to what you are able to see and do. As always, I recommend you come here sooner than later before we lost all access. I hope this public service announcement is helpful!

Good morning, from Canada. This rainbow was a spectacular double arch, uncannily bright, but what I love best was how the rainbow's end silhouetted our rippling flag. The Maple Leaf, Forever.
