HAYES: You really seem like you don't like the guy.
OSSSOFF: I don't like bigotry. I don't like the Klan. I don't like neo-nazis. I don't like sitting members of congress who allow neo-nazi propaganda to be produced from their house. I don't accept that a sitting member of congress should appoint people to leadership roles in his political organization, with documented ties to the Ku klux Klan. It's not just the folks around Mike Collins, it's Mike Collins himself.

The bigger story is that the richest man in the world helped the Paxton campaign spread a completely made up story about his opponent and no one will face any consequences
Texas Democratic Senate nominee James Talarico's viral hospital rumor has been debunked by time-stamped security footage reviewed by The New York Times — but the bigger story may be why his campaign sat on the evidence while the conspiracy theory exploded across social media for days.
Talarico disappeared from the campaign trail for nine days in early October, fueling rampant speculation that he had secretly traveled to an Ohio behavioral health center. His campaign maintained he was home with the flu, and security camera images from his Austin home now back that up. But GOP strategists and journalists are torching the campaign's response as "mind-numbing malpractice" for not releasing the footage sooner.
With Election Day just weeks away in one of the biggest Senate races in the country, the question has shifted from where Talarico was to why his team let the narrative spiral unchecked when they had the receipts the entire time.

James Talarico's closing statement:
You may have noticed that I haven't talked about my opponent at all tonight, because I don't want people to vote just against Ken Paxton. I want them to vote for me. I want them to know my values and my vision.
But we are running against the most corrupt politician in Texas. Since taking office, Paxton has increased his net worth by $27 million. He now owns 15 homes. We have an opportunity to defeat him and this entire corrupt system.

Son, lawyer up.
My final statement regarding the @JamesTalarico and @LindnerCtrHope situation:
I’ve made all the recordings publicly available on my 𝕏 account so everyone can listen and draw their own conclusions.
Frankly, this entire situation has been blown completely out of proportion.
Here are the facts: I contacted the medical facility after receiving a tip suggesting that Talarico might have been a patient there.
During that conversation, I pressed an employee for information, and the employee ultimately stated that Talarico had been discharged from the facility within the previous 24 hours.
Approximately 12 hours later, the Lindner Center issued an official statement contradicting what its employee had told me, denying that Talarico had ever been a patient at the facility.
That’s where the facts stand.
I reported what I was told, released the recordings in full, and acknowledged the facility’s subsequent denial.
I have no independently verified evidence establishing that Talarico was ever a patient there.
I’m not going to speculate beyond the information available or continue fueling a controversy based on an unverified claim.
As far as I’m concerned, this matter is closed.
It’s time to move on to more substantive issues facing voters.
From now until Election Day, my goal remains clear: to do everything within my ability, in whatever capacity possible, to help elect @KenPaxtonTX as the next United States Senator from the great state of Texas.

Cool eval. Simply ask an LLM “Land or Water?” and give it a latitude and longitude coordinate as text. Ask 16,200 times, plot as image. The models know. From compressing the internet.

I'm sorry you're frustrated. Analysis after analysis lists examples of people with tens of billions in wealth who've paid little or no taxes over many years. Here's one of many.
I can't speak for others, but I am not remotely jealous of wealthy people. I'm fortunate to be one myself. I have absolutely nothing against billionaires. I applaud their success. I'd just like them to acknowledge the obscene wealth gap in our society and torecognize that their wealth is built on the shoulders of all Americans, not just their own hard work and brilliance.
Alex, I really appreciate the debate, and I'm going to let you have the last word. I have lots of other things to do, as I know you certainly do! Thank you for engaging.

Is this really what we've come to? 3-year-olds appearing in court without a lawyer. If you supported this administration because of its hands-off AI and crypto policies -- these innocent kids are suffering the consequences.

A camera that only sees one column of pixels at a time turns out to be the perfect way to photograph a streetcar.
Daniel Lawrence Lu stood by the Muni tracks for three hours with a line scan camera, capturing about 10,000 one-pixel slices a second as each tram rolled past.
Since the vehicle paints itself onto the frame, there's no perspective at all. The trams come out flat and dead-on, like the elevation drawings an engineer would make, while the background smears into stripes. And people don't blur either.

For decades, Kaziranga lost rhinos to men who knew the ground better than the rangers chasing them. Then someone changed the odds. In 2022, for the first time in 45 years, it went a full year without losing one. Read on.

sheer ingenuity and insane curiosity. what's crazy is the upstream fix landed over a year ago as an ordinary commit. 🤦🏾
Gave Claude the source blog post and had it re-review our own OAuth consent flow & it found a turned-off CSRF check with a comment explaining why it was safe. It really wasn't. 😱🙏🏾

My early years in engineering through my first startup & my almost 12yr stint at Intuit were mostly backend. I took a lot of pride in clean, robust database schema design. Really cared about read/write patterns, foreign keys, indexes, the right level of normalization for the specific workflows, table/column naming, and a whole variety of things that were hard-to-change foundational components of whatever I was building. Bad design, like a bad habit, gets calcified; worse, patterns, good or bad, get copied by team members.
AI has taken away my insecurities with UX. I have no fear of AI writing good API contracts and business logic, as long as I'm in control of security, authz/n, and code/service reusability principles. But man, the database designs I'm having to deal with are subpar. Maybe it's the lack of robust rules and guardrails, but I'm fighting Claude aggressively to get things right. In one instance, Claude fused a bunch of axes (user UI state, user type, audit values) into the main User table!
Reviewing AI's work across the whole stack is impossible. But the schema is small, and everything else is downstream of it. A mangled User table guarantees every service touching users inherits the mess and creates ugly hacks. I am striving to get the substrate right so the layers above can't drift as far. A little more control at the one layer that I think matters the most.
Though I have to say (albeit, just 2 full days in), Fable 5.1 is doing a much better job of keeping my BP in check.
