New followers, hi! I'm a poet/Spec Fic writer/editor/tarotist based in Newcastle. My pamphlets are Primers Vol.6 (@NineArchesPress ) Dionysia (@VervePoetryPres) and Unfurl. I run @TheBraag, a press and micro-journal. Website is kymdeyn.com 💚✒️
Three things:
I'm basically never on here any more, the nzi slop got too much for me, which means—like everyone else—I've lost a bunch of my reach and visiblity. Anyway, my small press, The Braag is open for submissions!
3rd thing: I'm on the blsky!

So, chatbots are accessing people’s private data to tell them things “no one could possibly know,” and some folks see this as proof that the bots are angels / demons from another realm. The internet has broken a lot of brains. I’m begging you to log off. Read a book. Go outside.
It shouldn't be a controversial take that presses that charge a submissions fee but don't pay their authors shouldn't exist. And yet.

Now they've cancelled taking £300 from pensioners on £35,000, perhaps they can cancel taking £8,000–£10,000 from chronically ill and disabled people with incomes of around £15,000.

The Government has today announced it is keeping the existing copyright exhaustion regime, after previous suggestions that would have been catastrophic for UK authors. Thank you to everyone who joined the Save Our Books campaign back in 2021 💪

I get yelled at for saying this but children enjoy being challenged and it's good for them to read books that are a bit difficult. In my experience, adults are the ones trying to keep them from classics while the kids are aching to read Dracula, Jane Austen and Jane Eyre.

ALT FOR MY YOUNG FRIENDS WHO ARE AFRAID There is a country to cross you will find in the corner of your eye, in the quick slip of your foot—air far down, a snap that might have caught. And maybe for you, for me, a high, passing voice that finds its way by being afraid. That country is there, for us, carried as it is crossed. What you fear will not go away: it will take you into yourself and bless you and keep you. That's the world, and we all live there.

1 in 5 employers won't hire a disabled person.
We are twice as likely to be unemployed and have to apply for 60% more jobs.
There are only 23 truly remote jobs in ‘Disability Confident’ organisations in the whole of the UK.
Cutting PIP won’t get more disabled people in work.
Finding twt increasingly gross these days! I've been at 🟦 for ages @shortestwitch.bsky.social 💙
