📊 A quick note about a change to your Short.io stats.
City breakdown and IPs in Click Stream and in Statistics are now only available on verified accounts.
☝️ For free accounts, this means adding a phone number to your account.
✌️ For paid accounts, your payment information is enough.
The reason for this change is to protect users’ privacy.
Unfortunately, anyone can create a free account within minutes, create and employ links, and use the information in Statistics and Click Stream for malicious purposes.
Verifying an account both adds accountability, and gives us ways to keep scammers off our platform for good if needed.
You click other people’s links too, so this can protect you as well.

We're early adopters of Google's Email Verification Protocol 👋
It kills the most annoying step in signup — the "go find our email and then click the link" round-trip. All without dropping the security check that would have us drowning in spam.
It's currently part of Chrome's Origin Trials program, and we like it enough that we want to support its adoption.

We have multiple systems in place to catch and block most of them, but there's no way to ensure 100% efficiency at all times.
ℹ️ (For context, Short.io gets around 300 requests every single second.)
🛡️ To keep your platform and ours safer, we built an abuse portal where you can report abusive links and domains — spam, phishing, scams, malware, and worse. Once reported, our support team can zero in and take a real look at each one ASAP.
🏛️ There's additional functionality if you're a government official, where you can review suspended domains in your jurisdiction and look up domains beyond it too.
