I'm all for goals, but nervous about my annual review this year because I didn't hit some of my personal goals, like streaming. But I wrote out a list of personal goals I DID accomplish during the most stressful year of my life due to divorce, and omg I accomplished a lot.
My personal goal at work this year was to post 1 - 2 times per month on X and/or LinkedIn. This is a post to help reach that goal. 🤣
One of the biggest challenges of being a single parent is using all your PTO for your kids, including illness, doc appointments, etc., then not having enough to use on yourself when you're sick and need to rest.
Suffering through today. 😅
Sad I won't be attending CYC this year. But on the bright side I'm spending time with my kids this week, which is more important - they are my life. 💚
Personal win. I've been posting here, LinkedIn, and even voicing my opinions to the school district my kids attend after 1+ year hiatus. I'm finding my voice again, and worrying less about how others will perceive me.
Its very freeing.
My pre-work ritual after dropping kiddos off at school has been proactively de-stressing by getting rid of gonks in Cyberpunk. I go into the work day ready to tackle anything. 😂
Coded for fun/outside of work for the first time in forever. With the advancement of AI, my process looks a LOT different than 1 - 2 years ago. Pretty neat to think about how AI has advanced over the last couple of years.
I've been quiet here because outside of work I've been focusing on my kids and personal growth instead of coding.
But I'm still doing things. I was just awarded Team Member of the Month for my UI/UX work to an app that will be released next year! My day has been made! 😊
If you ever want to watch live TV-style drama as a software engineer, put firmware and software people in the same room.
