You’re obviously being obtuse because the original point she made was about the onus being on her childless friends to put more effort in the friendship. As much as you want to frame this, community goes both ways and life doesn’t start revolving around you because you gave birth

I lowkey can’t participate in the kids vs no kids debates because I used to be on the no kids side and was talking real big lmao and I had kids and ate some words. You are absolutely thinking from a different place before you have children guys. We will never see eye to eye

As a child free woman with friends with children, I want to know if this is a genuine thing you guys are experiencing, where mothers are expecting their friends to pick up the slack of parenting and not the fathers. Or is this hyperbole for the sake of a hit tweet?

That lady at home changing diapers, ain’t slept for 48 hours because she up with an infant and recovering from giving birth and y’all hollering about she gotta be a villager if she wants a village. Y’all are stupid 😭

Honestly, this is cool as fuck. A harpist, of all musicians, now has a semiweekly(good paying I imagine) standing gig playing their beloved instrument in what I’d think would be a chill environment. This is way cooler than any stupidly expensive Pokémon card or closet full of never worn shoes that athletes spend their money on. This is some Medici shit. I like it.
Jaylen Brown says he bought a gold harp, and now has someone come over twice a week to play it as the sun goes down while his chef cooks dinner
“My favorite purchase, I think my best, my most favorite purchase was, I bought a harp. I bought like a gold harp. I got it upstairs too…”
“I got a harpist that come play like twice a week. While the sun is going down, chef is in the kitchen. You know what I mean? Just…”

The banks are online, the transactions are in the cloud. Manufacturing is less than 1/10th of their economy. This isn’t 1926.
This is what happens when you never update your phrasing because you’re just obsessed with LARPing instead of critically thinking.

All minorities should remember that all placating these people will achieve is a couple extra hours watching your neighbors swing from the tree while you await your turn
I am not "as American" as Americans who have been here for generations.
There is nothing hateful nor degrading about acknowledging or saying that those descended from Jamestown or Plymouth Rock have more of a claim to this country than I do as a Korean immigrant. America is their birthright and heritage; I am but a guest.
And becoming American requires assimilation, but that takes time. It doesn’t happen overnight, and cannot happen in one generation. It happens over generations through marriage, loyalty to the nation, and adoption of the nation’s customs.

This kind of small-evil (laziness, shallowness, thinly veiled ressentiment) is so widespread in our culture that we *almost* collectively deserve what’s coming. But not quite, so, I’m very sorry for us all.
The single most evil thing our tax dollars have done in 80 years. It should be our shame for the rest of our lives
Alex Gibney: “There was an estimate that what [Elon Musk] did by suddenly cutting USAID would cost through disease and starvation as many as 14M lives. Even if you discount that, we know within a year of those cuts where they were literally burning food going to starving children, 500K children died. This is really a crime against humanity, but he makes a joke about it, I put USAID into the woodchipper. What he put into the woodchipper were children”

i don’t think it’s far-fetched to say that a lot of politically un-engaged/un-informed people did move to the right because the perceived the left as being overly sensitive. like we already know these people are stupid so you don’t have to try to rationalize it but like, the whole “snowflake” culture did radicalize a lot of men
They start with reasonable material objectives but their members curdled by an inchoate ideology that insists that the world personally owes them something. Most reasonable adults and a lot of black Americans see right through that cry-baby bullshit.

They're anti-establishment populists. It's an incoherent need to reject polite strivers and center a chud white man or a smiling third worldist who invokes revolution with a smile like Mao. Africian Americans are too American and also not white enough to appeal to populists.
