🤔 Markerless mocap on the rise in cricket broadcasts while employment of biomechanists at national cricket orgs has recently declined. Cricket would do well to follow the pro baseball trend of growing biomechanics support staff to capitalize on the potential of the technology.
Well well, is this Hawkeye rolling out markerless mocap in cricket, or just a one off? Fine for a bit of a tv visual, but there's a lot of potential there for much more. It takes time and expertise though, it's not plug and play. Does cricket have the vision to see it through?

This study had several limitations. Authors didn't control for factors like light exposure during morning travel for exercise, which could affect circadian rhythm. Baseline sleep data wasn't collected, and sleep timing and duration were not controlled, as participants slept normally. Additionally, the study only included young, healthy, sedentary adults, so results may differ for older adults or those with chronic illnesses. Future research should explore these areas /11

Based on these results, exercise can be leveraged to adjust the circadian rhythm for many situations, such as jet lag, shift work, and getting ready for early mornings at work /8

So what does this mean? Essentially, if you are an EARLY RISER, and you exercise at night, this may make it HARDER to fall asleep earlier and shift your internal clock later in the day. In other circumstances, exercise makes it EASIER to fall asleep earlier /7
