I don't think Objectivism is going to spread widely, especially not soon. It's like being a traveling salesman of the world's greatest vacuum going door to door, selling to people who already have vacuums. They say "That is a mighty fine vacuum you have, but mine's fine."

Oh she has a Master's degree? Well why didn't you say so? That's a horse of a different color. Shove away!
I’ve been getting a lot of DM’s about this.. First and foremost. NCAA rule book says all players should be sidelined during injury. Now let’s get something straight. Grace Dietrich isn’t some random person on the Duke sideline. She’s a certified athletic trainer with a master’s degree, doing her job and responding to an injured player. Medical personnel should NEVER have to fight their way through anyone to provide care to a student-athlete, especially not knowing the severity of situation. I don’t care who you are or what position you think you hold. Player safety comes FIRST. There’s no defending that behavior in my opinion.

If this were two men, nobody's job or career would be at risk. Add a woman to the equation and suddenly careers and futures are at stake.
TRENDING: College football fans are calling for Duke CB Kimari Robinson to be suspended after he shoved a female medical staff member’s arm away as she rushed to help an injured teammate. DOES ROBINSON DESERVE TO BE SUSPENDED FOR THIS…? 👀👀👀

The same week the NFL announced Josh Jacobs would be allowed to play after throwing a woman to the ground and smashing her phone, they flagged Matthew Golden for flexing his muscles. This is not a serious league.

I see the protests in France are trending. Since I just spent 10 days there during the heart of them, I figured I'd chime in with what's actually going on. The news and clickbait accounts on X will show you the outlier events: burning buildings, raging violence and everything that triggers you. I was in the heart of Aix en Provence during the biggest protest day and filmed the center where it was happening. (See below) This is right the University, across from the church, dead center of town. The students are dancing, singing, kicking soccer balls and have comically barricaded the entrance doors to force the school to close. I visited many cities in France during the protest period, and saw zero violence or malpractice of any kind. More broadly, I spent more than a month this year in France across 3 trips and 10+ cities, including Paris, Bordeaux, Aix en Provence, Nice, Antibes, Biarritz, and others, and it's incredibly safe, charming, peaceful and beautiful. Every city I visited is nicer than almost every American city, and there's zero comparison. So much that it wouldn't even be insulting to France to try, because nobody who has spent significant time in both countries would take this comparison seriously. I spoke with the students at length about their views. I also spoke with waiters, drivers, merchants, staff and whoever. They were all civil, well articulated and genuinely wanted to see change. We can disagree about their reasoning, logic or whatever, and it's true that France has fiscal problems, but to chalk up the France protests to raging extremist violence from "pick your favorite group to blame", is a laughable misrepresentation of what's actually going on. If you exclusively watch the news and believe the top 1% extreme situations, you have likely been psyoped.

Evergreen X post. One of the main templates on this website is people posting that they're not going to post on the site anymore. I shit-post non-stop sarcasm but I'm leaving because the site isn't serious. Okayyyyyyy. 👋
Getting off this hellsite for awhile. I hope not permanently but honestly maybe. It’s become insanely retarded on here. The value of learning about the world and having interesting conversations with random smart people is 99% gone. Every poster sells slop to a 90 IQ audience, everyone in the replies is a screaming baboon.

Gotta love women canceling Sydney Sweeney for dressing like a whore and then canceling Shane Gillis for saying women shouldn't dress like whores

Not surprised Alex Epstein is the clearest thinker on another existential crisis issue.
We should use the term "control" instead of "alignment." "Alignment" is a term generated by people who humanize computers running LLMs, treating them as conscious, potentially competitive beings that we should somehow manipulate into "aligning" with us. Vs. as computers that are inherently more challenging to control than normal ones, and thus that require extra effort to control to serve our purposes.

Ronald Acuna Jr. is an extremely talented baseball player. There isn’t anything he couldn’t do on the field. It’s not a talent issue for me. I blame the organization. They have allowed him to do whatever he wants, whenever he wants since he was a 20-year-old. Freddie Freeman tried to address holding to the Braves’ standards. Acuna pushed back, and the org sided with him. When the time came, they let Freddie go hoping Acuna was the new face of the Braves. Fast forward 5 years, Acuna has played 1 full season. The MVP year in 2023. In playoffs since 21, he is 11-64 with 0 HRs and 0 RBIs. When you pick the wrong guy to lead your franchise you end up where the Braves currently stand. It sucks cause Acuna could have been special if he was shown how to be the face of a professional organization.

Jokic is probably the most underrated player in basketball history because the people who would appreciate his game the most gave up on watching the NBA years ago.

None of this should surprise anyone. Ayn Rand told us in 1957 where this ends if the culture does not change its philosophy. Atlas Shrugged is the story of a country that holds self-sacrifice as a virtue and then wonders where its producers went. Her influence bought us time. From the early 80s to the turn of the century the trend went the other way. It did not hold, because the root premise stayed in place. Kant made selfless duty the essence of morality, Comte gave it the name altruism, and the universities have been teaching it ever since. That is how you get privileged socialists. Calling them privileged doesn't answer them. Altruism already tells them their privilege is a debt, and socialism lets them pay it with other people's money. As long as self-sacrifice is the moral ideal, socialism is the political result, and it keeps winning until someone challenges the morality and not just the economics.
Democratic Socialists are WINNING. They’ve won 30+ primaries this year! They’re on track for 5 seats in Congress. Crazy! We're told socialism is for the working class. But Stossel TV Fellow Leyla Taghiyeva reports on how socialism's biggest promoters are PRIVILEGED:
